    DQOTD

Dumb question of the day. Does everyone carry a spare prop? We've always had sailboats and never carried one.

    V berth storage

By Googling Aluminum Boat Hatch Trim Ring, I found some sources, but not in the size I would prefer. I may use your method. BTW, how large of an opening can one make and not worry about loosing structural integrity of the surface into which it is cut?

    V berth storage

I should have noted that the picture is the interior of a Seaward 25 sailboat. I was in the midst of several improvements. The picture was to show the type of trim ring used on that boat for flush under cushion storage.

    V berth storage

This photo shows the formed, aluminum frame, that allowed the cover board to be flush with the top as well as gave it a more finished look.

    Dumb question of the day

On my boat, there is no sump in the back between the fuel lines so I'm not sure how a pump would work on the flat bottom of the rear of the cockpit. Maybe I'm missing something???????? DUNNO

    Dumb question of the day

Makes sense if the cockpit floor is sloped forward. Thanks

PC based navigation vs Apps vs Marine electronics

Hit the nail on the head re: motorcycle seats. The stock ones are so uncomfortable that you might as well be on a 2 X 4 w/o padding. Everyone has a different level at which they feel comfortable. Nancy and I tend to be on the more minimal side. But I sure wouldn't do without a GPS/Chartplotter...

We used to tow our dingy behind our sailboat.

The upside down method seemed to hold promise but I went out to look. Here is what I have on the forward cabin top. It appears that if I turned the dinghy upside down over the radar dome, the antenna mount would be right where the dinghy tube would rest resulting in damage to the dinghy.

    09/08 - 09/11 - 2016 7th Annual Mississippi River Gathering

Sounds like you are having a great time. How many total river miles will you make this trip? With cooler fall temps, it could be a great fall trip for Nancy and I. We hope to be on KY lake the first week in October.

We used to tow our dingy behind our sailboat.

Thanks to all who replied. We are noodling over the possibilities. We only have 5' from the radar dome to the back of the cabin top.

We used to tow our dingy behind our sailboat.

Our new 22 has twins and I'm scratching me head on where to store the Honda outboard when the dingy isn't in the water. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have a great system for a relatively low cost. Looking forward to seeing how it all works out in real life!

Convince me, vertical or horizontal windlass.

I've read a lot of posts today and still haven't found anything that would tip me in either direction. But there must be some advantage/disadvantage of both. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Nancy wants to know if anyone every painted their interior.

Wow! looked at your album and that is an amazing project you have going on. What paints did you use? Did you roll it on, brush it on?
