    Bear Spray

Chest holsters are the way to go. Having spray or a gun in a pack is worthless. I understand your reluctance to border cross with a gun as times have changed. I have a fair amount of experiance with bears both AK browns and blacks in the 48. On thing to consider is spray in high "coastal" winds...

    Prepping to Buy... Advice?

Just say no to a Wallas . Some guys like them but pages and pages have been written about Wallas trouble. I think there are better less complex heaters.....and that's if your think you want a heater at all. It should be noted that I'm basing my clear prejudice on this forum and history of guys...

Dry Suit vs. Wet Suit vs. Survival Suit

Cold water survival suits are unpleasant to wear for extended time. Often they leak and dextarity is greatly reduced with the glove configuration. They are however the best thing to bob around in cold water other than a functional boat. For purposely getting into the water I'd go dry suit. The...

    teleflex

For a C-Dory 22 Cruiser with a single Honda 90 a Teleflex 18' is almost perfect. I just replaced a 19' telefax NFB rack cable and the 19 was a bit long. Workable but long. I'm posting this so several years from now should I need to remember the length I can find it. 18' Teleflex NFB rack...

    What Is In A Chine

If you think it needs strength consider epoxy and colloidal silica. Its strong and is recommended for use below the waterline. Its a PIA to sand flush so apply sparingly. I used a fair amount of that and can vouch for its performance and longevity. Do wear mask when working with it. Its linked...

C-Dory Aesthetics vs. Functionality - which is it?

I ‘m totally guilty of loving my boat. I will not apologize for it or belittle anyone who really loves Lakes , boats and fun with friends and family ……..what’s not to like or love? It’s a combo of form and function and a long relationship that I would have difficulty explaining to someone who...

    Handling in Great Lakes chop

Two feet or less sounds like no trouble but its unpleasant in most any boat. I have found to just throttle back to about 9-12 mph in that stuff. Also on occasion I will have a fair amount of bow weight and that actually makes the boat handle a bit better in the chop. Just some thoughts Chris
