01/23 - 01/25 - Seattle Boat Show 2015

Seawolf Joe and yours truly are planning on making the trip! I'll be flying in on ThurSday night and staying until Sunday mid day, Joe is driving up from Redding. We will probably go up and visit Dusty either Friday or Saturday during the day.

This is sounding great. I will plan on the Fri evening with their Root Beer, and the dinner, (Roger, you will need to S/U what you want for an address for the checks) and being at the b-show for some of the time. The idea of staying at Bell Harbor is pretty cool, (It's a great place, and Fisherman's Terminal is also pretty good too. Both are on the same data base, so there is some benefit if you have been at one or the other.

If I come on the boat I would be glad to share a ride with some new perspective owners. Looking froward to this.

From the first post on this page by rogerbum:

"....In the past few years, I've had a hard time getting firm numbers to the taproom in time for them to adequately prepare due to uncertainties in who was and wasn't coming. As a result, the plan is that those who are planning to attend must pay in advance and the monies must be received by me no later than 10 days in advance of the event (e.g. by Jan 13, 2015). The easiest way for me will be to send me a check but for those who would rather pay by card, I'll find a way to set something up for this (likely paypal)."

Roger(bum) is the C-Brat who is setting up the boat show CBGT. He is doing the arrangements and will be tho one (according to his post) to be renting the van and setting numbers with the brewery staff.

We will need to send the check for $15 per each Friday night meal at the brewery to Roger when / where he post that info. I don't think it has been posted yet.

BTW, WELCOME to the C-Brats and to C-Dorydom. Glad you found the right boat. Hope to get to meet up around the SBS CBGT, or on the water.

ALERT! ALERT1 ALERT!

The dates give on the Home Page Calendar:

http://www.c-brats.com/calendar.php

are wrong!

The Calendar gives the dates as the weekend of Jan 30-Feb 1,

whereas the real SBS-SBGT is Jan 23-Jan 25.

If you've made plans for the later date in the month, an adjustment would be in order, etc!

I, unfortunately, gave someone else (nameless) bad info! :smileo

Maybe it has been changed or maybe I have a different calendar? But I looked up January 2015 and it has the correct, January 23-25 dates. I did notice that January 2014 has the "other" dates - maybe you were on January 2014 instead of January 2015?

Joe, I think you may have looked at the 2014 CB Calendar. The 2015 model seems to be in order.

I have found myself in similar situations frequently in recent years. Try looking through the bottom part of your glasses - it is amazing! Or, do as I finally did and get these fancy contacts that have the bifocal part all around the edge so you can read from any angle.

Thanks for keeping us on our toes (but then, that isn't all that comfortable as the years progress, either).

OK, I just went from December, 2014 to the next month, which took me back to January 2014, not to January 2015. (!!!)

Hope I show up in Seattle on the right weekend, and not in Portland, Vancouver, Fairbanks, or Moose Jaw instead.

I'll have my wife, Cathy, pin a note to my jacket with the date and destination on it as well as a return address.

Now why are we all going to San Diego, anyway???

New sweatshirt message for my old age:

Lord give me coffee to deal with those things I can change, and wine to deal with those I can't. :crook

Yes he did and, based on his observation, I made nonrefundable reservations for the wrong dates... Fortunately for he and I both, I looked at the Brats thread and realized it within 24 hours and Travelocity changed it for me with no penalty (other than $13 for a booking fee).

What motel will we use? I haven't been there since 2008 so don't know where it was for the past few years if we're at the same place. Joe and I will drive up to see Dusty on either Friday or Saturday daytime if anyone wants to ride in the back seat of his SUV. (Hope he doesn't mind my offer of his car  )

The hotel we used the past couple of years worked out well. That's the Silver Cloud Inn at the Stadium. It's immediately adjacent to the show. I'll probably stay there on the Friday night.

Thanks Roger, is there a block of rooms reserved or is it kinda pot luck?

There's no block reserved but they do have a boat show rate. For reservations, call 1-800-497-1261 or 206-204-9800 and ask for the NMTA2015 promotional code for the Seattle Boat Show. Or book online here. Click "Group." Group Number: BOATSHOW Password: NMTA2015

Anyone thinking of coming that might consider sharing a room. I could pick you up at the airport if we work it right. Please PM me. I plan to go to the Brewery Friday.

The silver cloud stadium location is already booked solid for the 23rd at least. We may stay at the lake union location and just ride the free shuttle.
