04/10 - 04/11 - Cathlamet Cruise

WD 50,
I have relatives all over the Grand forks, Mountain and Cavalier areas yet. After being back ther twice in the last 10 years I still cannot figure why any one stays there. If it isn't snow it is Mesquitoes or flooding. Mountian N.D. is where my grand father settled when he came over from Iceland.

My wife informed me today that the weekend of April 10th is Easter weekend. Is this going to affect anyone that was planning on being there? Thoughts?

I think we'll be OK with it, but it is a very good question. If the date needs to be changed, that's OK too.

I want to schedule a vacation day for the Friday ahead of it, but I haven't asked for it yet. Once the date is set for good, I'll see about getting an extra day.

Who's gonna bring the Easter Eggs?

We are so boat crazy that we didn't even notice.
Good thing we have our wifes to keep us straight.

So, what is the new date gonna be B~C?

It's actually the best weekend for me, Egghead.

Shoot, Cratchlametstan is close enough to do twice or more. I got a friend that lives right nearby.

welllyell yes, I say lets go once a month, don't need no special occasion for a Catherderlamet weekend, it's a nice place and close....except for those durn rocks

That's probably going to be the first water that the Lynn Marie will see this year and since the only egg hunters are Judy and I, we can hide them here, there, or anywhere. If Martha comes along though it may be a whole different story and then everything will need to be perfect. That includes all dock lines in neat coils and fenders hung just so above the water. We'll be there on whatever week-end.
The real reason for going, besides hanging out with you all, is it also means the end of my boat projects for this year. YAHOO!

I was hoping to make this one. I wanted to see all of the other 25's and learn to fish the Columbia from the experts in this group. Once I found out it was Easter weekend, it was ruled out for me. You guys have a good time. I'm still going to want to come down and get a fishing lesson while the springers are in the river.

Jump in the boat and point it downriver :) :) If the weather is reasonable we'll throw in at Kalama. Perhaps us upriver folks can meet up and caravan down.

Hey Ray, how many more days? ya better get that kicker fixed. I think Larry said he was going to herd some springers into a net pen for us to catch :)

I scheduled the Friday prior off, and we still plan to be there.

One of the things we might consider for a group cruise is to cross the main channel just off Cathlamet and do a group mooning of that paper mill on the Oregon side. I put in 69 1/2 hours over the last five days, including 17 hours on Friday. I actually had to do work for nearly half of that time, and that's too much to ask of an old guy. Now I am off for a week. I will be getting the boat ready to float, and I mustn't be bugged.

Dang Mike-that's a whole lota' hours, especially for someone old enough to be retired. On the other hand, with all that money, you'd soon be able to sell the Tyboo II and move up to a Tom Cat 30, + your own gas station to keep it refuled!

Have fun playing with the boat!!! Joe.
