04/10 - 04/11 - Cathlamet Cruise

How do you know we didn't blame stuff on you before you joined the pub? it just seems like we're blaming the new guy :)

a few years back fishing would be hot in Youngs bay EXCEPT when we showed up, then, nada..that has since changed and we have actually caught fish while in sight of the Tyboo boat.

We'll sure chip in on the beef but not for chipped beef
 
Speaking of beef, I can score a big box of burgers for cheap in Longview..these are the good stuff man...give me the word and they're ours.....Catman can attest to the quality of the merchandise
 
Since Patty and Austin will be in Spain and France, and I will be accompanied (I think) by David, not sure what we will be bringing - except BEER!

Now, I want you to be extremely careful with your noggin between now and then. This year you're going to make it! I just know it! If you get Cheers down here, then all that's left is to see the Stimpy float, and we'll have it all!

Sounds like protein and sugars are covered.... I'll bring the vegetables!
A big salad with fresh herbs or grilled veggies.
And good bread with snack toppings.

Tom plans to be around Cathlamet this Thursday and Friday to check out the fishing.

The fish are running a bit late this year, there is still hope to catch Springers at Catchlimit this year.
Hopefully I will get my trailer fixed and ready to make the trip.
I'll hot wire the boat if I have to and bring a bucket... Don't need no bilge pump switch that way....

11 days and counting down!
 
Good to hear the fish are late because we won't be :smiled. Really hopin' to wrangle in one (or four) of them roe toten' buggers :wink.

Got everything ready to go on the boat this weekend, (you never know on your first trip) and brought all the rods back to our work home so I can re-spool with fresh line, oil the reels, sit in the recliner with visions of springers dancing in my head.

I would have liked to have gotten the Denebola :star better spiffed up on the outside. She needs a good deoxydizing, buff and wax, but I was glad to just get all of the new goodies installed in time for this cruise.

Just received the new Atlantis radio today :thup. Not enough time to get my technicians license before the cruise but I can still monitor what's happening and nod my bow :D.

The lovely Terrie and I are really looking forward to meeting everyone, seeing their boats and maybe the bonus of catching the first salmon in our boat. If indeed we do catch, will gladly sacrifice the tasty pink flesh to the C-Brats BBQ Gods :smilep.

I just found out the family is comming to our house for Easter. Won't be able to make the Catchlimit gathering. If I can break free, I'll drive up Sat. night to hello.

Pretty calm for it just being a week away from the cruise :shock:. I was expecting maybe a :cry or a :evil: or a :evil: :shock: :cry.

Hope you can break away, was lookin forward to meetin' the Salem contingent.

Just in case you need a reason to come down,(knowign that Catchlimit is just down the road from Salem) I thought of some very clever excuses for you to get out of the house :wink :
1)Gotta run and get some milk hun, or
2)Did you here that? I better go see what that was, or
3)I forgot to get your mom a card, I'll be right back, or
4)I'm having a Cadbury fit, I'll be right back, or
5)Was that this weekend? or...............

Not being much of a fisherman, I've been tryin' ta figure out how u fellers both caught tha same fish.....is it kinda like how we caught ar cattle in Montana?.....we used ta call it "team ropin' ".......is this "team hookin' " ? :crook
 
How ever, who ever, all I know is we won't starve at the Catha dinner :)

Yep, that's exactly what it is. :wink Just try to hook, fight, net and bonk a fish by yourself while you're trying to steer the boat in the wind with the tide running out and boats all around you. Fishing is definately a team sport in my boat. :mrgreen:
