05/02 - 05/04 - Jarrell Cove, WA

Well OK then! Like Ruth and Joe said, the food was simply outstanding - without putting down anybody else, because it was all great, the biggest treat was the fresh shrimp that Steve and Kathleen of Capital Sea brought for all of us, and Steve grilled up with Cajun Choice and butter! But best of all was the company we enjoyed. C-Brat friends old and new! It did not start out well, we took a wrong turn somewhere trying to find Zittel's and ended up on the wrong bay. Got that straightened out, and then the Johnson 40 was a bit of a cranky starter, held us up for another hour before she finally decided to run...but all's well that ends well! What an awesome weekend, the sunshine today (Sunday) was so welcome, it kind of makes you forget and forgive the last 300 cloudy, rainy, windy, snowy days! Somehow ran past Zittel's on the way back, the track on the GPS was our track from when we were lost in the car! Very entertaining trying to follow THAT track back in the boat! Need to get the MapTech Waterproof Charts in the 16 I guess! Thanks to Jim for putting this one together, it was really special!

Mike, Thanks for the great photo album. Really sorry we missed, (my fault - sick, ) and really enjoyed the photos. We have got to get down to that end of the sound yet. Glad you all had a good time, and hope everyone is home safe tonight.

Only almost 2 weeks til Friday Harbor.

What a great shake down cruise.
Thanks Jim for putting this together. We had a good time visiting with friends, old & new. We really enjoyed watching Kate & Kennidy playing on the docks.
Special thanks to Steve & Kath for the BBQ shrimp. :thup
See you in two weeks.

What a special weekend. Thanks to all who helped put this one in the books. Jim, you did a great job and your hard work is appreciated!!! Thank you again.

The weather on Sunday was spectacular. We sat around on the dock in the warm sunshine, for hours, savoring the warmth of the :hot and sharing it with good friends. The cruise home was beautiful. Snow capped mountains, Dall's Porpoise, eagles, and calm water.

We had a wonderful group of "new Brats" at the gathering and I must say, a super group of new friends. Thanks for joining us. Basecamp Anne, you rock!!; Amy, Carl, Kate and Kennidy, a fantastic boating family; Steve and Kath, thanks for sharing your catch; Dan and Tanya, owners of a Venture 23, thanks for driving up and attending the potluck, and stopping by the bakery!; Randy and Sandra, who did indeed bring "Joy"; and Steve and Beledia. Steve, thanks for the "demonstration" on the variety of uses of your lifting davit .

Until the next one. :D Robbi

Sandra and I had a wonderful time. We were just sorry that we did not make it for all the weekend. We really liked the group a lot and will plan to make more gatherings. Jim thank you, these things don't just happen I know.

Thanks to all for the great food. We were sorry to miss the shrimp.

On behalf of Kathleen and I, would like to express our thanks for those who organized and made us feel so welcome on this our first gathering. We had a great time and our only regret is that we got to the dock so late Sat evening. That was one long day which ended with us rummaging through our hastily cleaned and reloaded boat to get situated for the night, our first night on the Capital Sea.
Now we have done a good bit of camping in remote areas and boated for over 15 years in a smaller boat, but Kathleen had never slept overnight and was game only to give it a shot at this outing. So, the best news of all is that she has a really good night sleep and a great time meeting everyone. Those stories about washing machine nights up in the islands did not help, and you story tellers know who you are, but I am now confident that Islands and inlets North of the border are in our future YA!

We hope to see you all in Friday Harbor in a few weeks. Till then its wash the boat, shrimp, shrimp, shrimp and shrimp.

Great time. Enjoyed everyones company very much. Thanks to Jim for
the organizing. I think we should make a south sound cbgt a tradition.
Hope everyone had a safe trip home.

I also had a great time and appreciate the great energy of the gathering. I feel fortunate to have discovered the C-Brats and look forward to many more adventures.

Thanks

Jim
