The 2nd annual Friday Harbor CBGT is scheduled for May 8-9-10. Ling Cod and Shrimp will be open. We had 42 boats last year. this year may be a little down because of the economy so I have advised Friday Harbor to plan for 30 boats...for now.

Looking forward to learing the boat/gps, waters and other C-dory owners. new to all and will be coming from Sandpoint, Id. Would this be a good weekend to start this new venture? azygos

Azygos,

Great to hear you're coming to the Friday Harbor CBGT! Typically, a dozen or so Brats continue the festivities in the Gulf Islands and then head for the Anacortes CBGT the next weekend. I see you're retired and hope you'll have enough time to participate in the entire 10-11 day event.

If you need any help or encouragement, just ask. (PM or e-mail)

Azygos, I have a friend with a cabin in sand point. He keeps telling me about the large trout there that they pay you to catch. I never make it there until late summer so I miss the big trout on top water. Are you fishing for them and if so with what?

You mean Mackinaw trout like these ones? Here is a picture you won't see often - me holding a string of fish!

Funny part is, we turned the fish heads in and received the bounty check from the State of Idaho - and then somebody (Patty says I always blame her for everything, so I won't say who) neglected to cash the dang check within the allowed time period...

And to more or less stay on topic, why yes, we will be coming to Friday Harbor!

I didn't know they made fish that small :)

Well you can get paid for the macks too. but I want to know about the large rainbows in the lake. 15 to 25 lbs. The derby on the lake last year weighted in 30 fish over 20 lbs.

To get the thread back on topic, I signed up for this cruise today. Unfortunately, I missed this one last year. I definitely need to get out this year and get some shrimp.

Oh please........tell me about your weather troubles. When it gets half-way decent on the open Gulf, I will tell you about my little 50-100 pound halibut I have to deal with..... :)

New to the boat and group, Please sign me up, I'll have many questions before this is all over, will be leaving the Sandpoint area and know nothing about the Friday Harbor or Anacortes waters. Thanks

Just go to the top of the page and click on event signups, Friday Harbor, and sign on up. Toni and I will be in the area for several weeks at that time and would be happy to lead you over or answer any questions you might have. San Juans = much fun.

Hello,

I know it has been a while since I last communicated. As I've heard others mention elsewhere on the site and it's true - work is getting in the way of my boating (and my life!) I'm lucky to be very busy, but it does take a lot of my time.

Oh well, if you guys are willing to accept me and my recycled beer can of a boat, the family and I would love to attend the Friday Harbor CBGT and see you all again. We had a great time last year.

Thanks,

-Sarge

Sarge,

I've been wondering where you were! It will be great to see you and your clan at FH. It was great last year and should be even better the second time around.

I have been chosen to be a juror on a trial which could last 12-16 weeks.
I most likley will not be able to get to the FH or Anacortes CBGT. This isn't
makeing me happy. I will be there if I can but not likey. I will still be boating
later in the summer.
