(4) Additional Passenger Name(s) (optional)
(5) Arrival Date (estimate OK)
(6) Departure Date (estimate OK)

Upon arrival, call to the Harbormaster on VHF Channel: 66a or call in at Phone: (360) 378-2688 and they will assign you a slip.

Activities for the gathering:
• Lots of Visiting, Sharing, and Story Swapping – Thursday PM thru Sunday AM
• Dinner Out with Other C-Brats – Friday PM
• Vessel Inspection – Saturday, starting 9 AM, performed by Friday Harbor Coast Guard Auxiliary
• Boating / Travel / Local History Book Exchange – Saturday, 2 PM, Party Barge (We all have books collecting dust at home, so let’s swap and get some new dreaming material.)
• Potluck –Saturday, 5 PM, Party Barge ** bring your own plates, utensils and favorite food **
• Boat Christenings – Saturday, After Potluck (PM Pat Anderson, Daydream, to sign up)
• Post Gathering Trip – Princess Louisa Inlet (PM Brock on Songbird)

Steve and Joanie (Pan-A-C'ya) will again invite Northwest Marine Industries (C-Dory factory). Michael and Alana Millison represented the company well last year. They cooked beef at the potluck and provided some nice C-Dory swag (C-Dory coats, shirts, hats, door mats, and more) for the winners of a trivia quiz put on by Pat and Patty Anderson (Daydream). If NMI joins us this year and brings swag, Pat and Patty have offered to give another fun quiz to win prizes.

We look forward to seeing everyone May 11-14 in Friday Harbor!

Gary and Colleen

SoBelle, people can come to the event even up to the last day but a deadline of April 1 for needed information really helps both us and the port. Gary

Done. And now that I've read the rest of your post above, I see it is a USCG safety inspection. lol. So yes.

I do plan on joining the cruise to Princess Louisa Inlet. Brock, you need a PM, or does this suffice here?

Looking forward to visiting and cruising. Barring no bad weather to interrupt my travel out. Colby

Looks like there are two discussion threads now for 2023 Friday Harbor, the initial one linked to "discussion" on the event listing, and this one. Tyboo, is there a way to link this one to the event? Or both threads? Colby

There you go, I linked both threads in the event signup list, put this one on the front page, and locked the other one. You're in business now!

Gary, thanks again this year for all the details!

Colby, your Princess post here is indeed sufficient, and I'll add you to the list. Super glad you're along.

Brock

Hey Gary and Colleen, Great to see this reminder that there is still summer coming on. Yikes, it was 20F here this morning. Now I know that is warm for some of you out there (Colby et al), but for here that is COLD :tux

I have received an email from the USCGAux VSI coordinator and they are looking forward to doing the inspections again this year. Nice to see this on the horizon and serious plans for SleepyC to get back onto the standard summer activity on the water.

Thanks to all who are participating.

Now I know that is warm for some of you out there (Colby et al), but for here that is COLD

That's cold anywhere! lol. But we are currently at our high today of 8! :tux That with the 10" of snow we got over the weekend, I'm done and ready for summer! Just have to make it another month, and then the St. John's gathering in Florida! :)

Yes cold is cold, but when the bottom drops out, one can sure tell the difference. We have had record snow here this winter already & last night was -36F & now at three in the afternoon still -11F outside of the house. No fun to even snowmobile at these temps. We’er way pass ready for spring & summer, back on the water.

As Coordinators for the 2023 CBFHGT, we want all C-Brats members to feel welcome to attend the event this year whether you own a C-Dory or not. Even if you own a different boat now, you are still welcome. Once a C-Brat, always a C-Brat. It is always good to see one another again and shoot the breeze.

Many C-Brats members are interested in purchasing a C-Dory and this event offers them a chance to see all the different models in one place. I expect that NMI (Northwest Marine Industries) will attend the event this year to represent new C-Dory boat construction. We enjoyed their presence and contribution last year with Michael and Alana in attendance.

Like ourselves, many folks use this event as a jump of point for further adventures. It's a great chance to connect with others who are traveling in the same direction.

Hope to see you there. Gary and Colleen

Mistaya will be in coming for the Gathering. We are looking forward to meeting other C-Brats and gaining more boating experience. We plan to bring Mistaya across the Rockies in early April and do some cruising in the Desolation Sound area and Princess Louisa Inlet in late April. We then plan to come down to San Juan Islands about a week prior to the gathering and stay a few days longer to do more cruising. We are hoping to do some of these cruises with other C-Brats. If you are interested, please contact us.

I will keep track of requests for christenings but there is some uncertainty whether Patty and I will be able to attend. On January 9 I was to have my right knee replaced. In the course of the knee replacement, I sustained a fractured femur. I was in surgery for 7 hours, and I now have a metal plate and screws holding my femur together. I just got out of the rehab facility on February 7. I must be 100% non-weight-bearing on my right leg for 12 weeks (8 more weeks). I SHOULD be able to put weight on my right leg by Friday Harbor, but I doubt that I will have sufficient balance back for boating. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. If we can't come, I can pass the christening list to somebody else. Sorry!

Pat, sounds like you’ve been put through the wringer. I hope it’s more down wind for you the next 8 weeks & sure would like to see you & Patty still make the Gathering, but you don’t need any more relapses.

Jay

Pat, that's a hell of a thing to have to endure, and I wish you a speedy healing. If you can't make this event, at least it's still early in the boating season and we'll have another four cruising months this year. I'll bring the dates.

Pat sorry to hear about your leg. take it easy and get well. will miss you both at the gathering. send me the script for naming the boats and I will think about it. no promises as I am shy in front of people......

So far we have 23 boats signed up for Friday Harbor. My guess is with just under three months to go, we'll exceed 30 C-Dorys. Whatever the number, it'll be a blast!
