It getting to be time to bring things up to date for Friday Harbor. I am attempting close contact with the weather gods, no answer yet but they have been good to us in the past so expect more good weather. We have 30 boats signed up thus far and I know of one or two planning to come that have not signed up so it should be a good sized gathering this year as well. Port of Friday Harbor monitors channel 66A, call on that channel and identify yourself as being with the C-dory group. As you enter the harbor area you will see two breakwaters; the Customs station and large vessel tie ups are on the left. There is a kiosk at the end of the breakwater to the right with the entry to the docks between the breakwaters. Friday Harbor gives the C-Brats all of "H" dock. It is to the right as you enter, look for the C-Brats banner. There are no specific slip assignments, just choose any open slip on "H" dock. All the slips are about 30' and have 30A power (power is a separate charge). Friday Harbor is giving us a good deal on the moorage, only 65 cents a foot, be sure to identify yourself as part of the C-dory group to get that rate.
The schedule is the same as in the past: boats start arriving noonish on Friday May 13. C-Cakes and crew will be there by around 10AM and there is usually a boat or two that comes in on Thursday so help should be available for docking. Dinner is at 5:30 Friday evening at Downriggers restaurant. Saturday is open for whatever you want, gossip, fish, shrimp, see the sights. The Friday Harbor West Marine has coffee and donuts for us in the morning. If you tell them you are with the C-Dory group they will give a 10% discount. The potluck will be Saturday afternoon on the breakwater. It is a true pot-luck so just bring whatever food strikes your fancy. Don't forget to bring something to sit on and if you like, a small table. The brats are renting some 6ft tables this year so there should be more room to put things. Be sure to bring something for the swap meet/giveaway . I'm not sure if we will do trivia as in the past or if we will just put boat names in the hat and draw for prizes. NOTE: We have two autographed copies of "Cat On A Leash" to be be given away, its by our own Jim of Wild Blue . Don't forget to bring your nametags, if you do not have them contact Roger Clark on Dreamer, to have some made. We go out to breakfast on Sunday morning, not necessarily all together, there are several good breakfast places, and most boats are gone by about noon on Sunday. Don't forget to bring a Mylar balloon for Harv's great balloon display. For those coming by ferry or those just wanting to see some C-Dorys, Welcome! The marina is to the right as you leave the ferry dock and "H" dock is on the left side of the marina. There are large dock signs at the top of the pilings.
See you there.
