05/17 - 05/20 - North Carolina Loop Cruise

Neal,
Based on historical information, the trip takes 4 days and always ended on a Sunday to allow everyone to get home, so they could head back to work on Monday. If you feel that the dates are incorrect, you may need to request that the "event signup" dates be changed, as they currently run from Thursday until Sunday.
Please feel free to call me if I can aid you with any of the reservation details.

After talking to Osprey, It might be a good idea to change the dates for the cruise. We could start on Thursday. Lock through on Thursday then to the Welcome Center. Would That be better. End on Sunday at Centerville Marina. Is that a better idea, let me know, Please. Neal

Well, I've got the boat cleaned up and ready to get wet. I'll probably come down a day or so early, and anchor around Norfolk just to watch the world go by. Steve, any chance I can make arrangements to park at your place?

I'm unclear on the schedule, and at the risk of being a bit dense, could someone help me out? This went back and forth, and I want to be sure that I'm where I'm supposed to be.

If anyone in the group needs help getting their MMSI numbers into their VHF's or connecting the VHF and GPS/PLOTTER, be sure to let me know and we'll get that done.

Looking forward to some fun! Did this trip last year with Hunky Dory, and had a great time.

I too am unclear. If "the dates posted on the event calendar will stand," then where will be each night? If we are in Centreville on the evening of the 15th to get underway on the 16th, seems the schedule should say 5/15-19. If we are in Coinjock the evening of the 19th (prime rib - yum!) to return on the 20th, seems the schedule should say 5/16-20.

Either way, looking forward to it.

The suggested dates are as follows; 17 May underway from Centerville Marina. Night of the 17 arrive at North Carolina welcome center.18 may underway to Elizabeth City, Pelican Marina. 19 May, underway to Coinjock Marina.20 May, underway to Centerville Marina. Please let me know if this schedule works for everyone. :thup

Dave,
It would be my pleasure for you to use my home to park your rig and also use my floating pier. I do have room for several more C-Brats rigs and boats if someone else wants to use this resource.
Best regards,
Steve Baum

Neal,
Joan and I are cool with the trip starting on Friday and ending on Monday. If everyone else agrees, I would recommend that you ask the moderator to change the dates on the "Event Signups" screen.
Best regards,
Steve Baum

Schedule works for me - looking forward to it. I'll have a grill on board which anyone can feel free to use, and extra cooler space.

Steve, thanks for your generosity. I'll be in touch regarding launching, etc. Are you going to link up with the group at Centerville sometime Thursday the 16th and overnight there, or come down on Osprey Friday morning?

Anyone know what time we'll be entering the lock?

ALMAS ONLY,
Joan and I will leave our home on Friday and make the 1:30 locking through Deep Creek Lock. We have to take care of Joan's 90 year old mother and an overnighter for us is usually a stretch. Fortunately, we are flying in Joan's long time girlfriend from Chicago to assist us while we are underway with the C-Brats.

SKIMMER,
You certainly are welcome to park and moor at the Baum's Marina. Joan said that because this may be the future home of SKIMMER, it may need to rest against this floating pier to see if she likes it.

For assistance with putting your boats in the water at the local ramp and for the parking, just give me a call when time permits.
Best regards,
Steve Baum

I am working on T-Shirts. Is there any interest in them? I do not know how much they are yet. Thanks for all the help in organizing this cruise. So far the boats I have are as follows; 1 ) Delphin 2) Almas Only 3) Pandy Girl 4)Skimmer 5) Resilient 6) Sea Quest 7) Orca Looking Forward To The Cruise. :D :thup

OSPREY: Steve, I'll be in touch shortly, and promise not to back my trailer through your shed, or onto the dock! Actually, if you'd swing the dock 90 degrees counterclockwise, it could probably take the trailer and my truck. Gotta love that gem.

DELFIN: I can always use another t-shirt (l or xl), so if there's enough interest, I'm in. I note that OSPREY will lock through at 1330, and am wondering if the Centerville group plans on that time too, or will go at 1100?

ALMAS ONLY,
As I remember, the previous Centerville C-Brat Group locked through Deep Creek at 11:00.
Typically at the NC Visitors center, we had a pot luck for Hors d'oeuvre before diner and sometimes hot dogs (or similar) on the grill as a group.
In Elizabeth City, we typically had diner at a local restaurant as a group. Groupers on the wharf at E-City has a great view, but the food is just okay and the prices should bring not only better food, but also better service.
At Coinjock we typically had lunch and diner as a group at the marina restaurant (their food is very good and very reasonable).
Best regards,
Steve Baum
