06/03 - 06/05 - Chesapeake Gathering 2011

Doug and Anne,
We will not be able to make it. We are so sad to miss it. Ernie has just found out he will have to go out of town on Friday, to meet with some new customers. Have a great time.

:D

We just joined the C-Brats tonight and would love to come to the Gathering. That is if we can get a slip in the Marina. We have emailed the Anne-B for information. We will need to launch our boat at the ramp and get a slip. Will call the Marina in the morning.

Bill and Sandy (from Central PA and do most of our boating in the Thousand Islands... really looking forward to coming south!)

We will check our e-mails before we leave, but sorry no lap top.

Weather looks good!

See everyone soon.

So, I hope somebody remembers Pat & Patty, who came to the Great Eastern Shore CBGT in 2005 with Bill and El (Halcyon) and Tom and Kathy (Otter). We shall return! Only a couple of years now until retirement! This was one of the great memorable events of our C-Brat experience!

There may be one or two wannabees or guests. If I left anyone out, please let me know.

Thanks Tyboo, an album would be great. I have some pix to add.

We had a small group this year, only 6 boats, but we had one of each C-Dory represented (except the 19) and a 29 Ranger Tug. It was the best of people though, great conversation.

Because we knew it would be a small group, we decided to go into Rock Hall for dinner Saturday night. First year the committee didn't provide a large Chesapeake Dinner. After a short cruise Saturday afternoon, we were coming back to the slip and told the electricity was out in all of Rock Hall and Chestertown. Some transformer blew out and burned up the pole too. No electricity from 3:30 to 8:30. Of course our 6:00 reservations didn't hold up. None of the businesses in town could open. All of the restaurants had no electricity for stoves and ovens.

The Ranger Tug came to our rescue with enough food to put together and we all added what we had left on our boats. We got some charcoal from the marina office and cooked up a storm! Thanks to Ken and Sandi for their resoursefullness.

The weather was great, not at all hot like some previous years.

Hope everyone had a great time and looking forward to something different next year.
