06/04 - 06/06 - Lake Roosevelt

We are planning on getting to Seven Bays either Wednesday the 2nd or Thursday the 3rd. Regardless we will meet you at Seven Bays Thursday afternoon. We will be monitoring channel 68--give us a call if we're not there when you get there. Haven't done any bass fishing since we left North Carolina--will definitely have some fishing gear with us.
Dean & Jeff, will these dates work out for you? We're planning on staying until Tuesday or Wednesday of the next week.
Ken, I agree if the weather forecast looks bad we'll have to reevaluate.
Will we see you all at Lopez :?: :smile

Wade,

Sorry about the Jury call-up. Wonder if they will buy the line that your presence at Lake Roosevelt is "Mission Critical"? Used to work for us when it was time to get underway on the big ones.

Doug

Glad to hear you folks can make it. The date is drawing nearer, make sure that Smallmouth fishing gear is ready for action.

As the weekend of June 5 approaches I'd like to get some more specific info about the gathering so we can plan to run into you all.

My wife and I are in charge of the graduation at our high school on Friday evening, the 4th, so will be leaving home early Saturday morning and heading toward Lake Roosevelt, picking up our friend Bob on the way. We plan to be in the vicinity by late morning to noon and am wondering how and where to meet up with some of you. We're still C-Dory-less and so are hoping to soak up as much info and atmosphere as we can. Where is the best place to be mid-day on the 5th so we can take advantage of your collective hospitality?

Greg

Tough call Greg, I've been looking at maps and scratching my head.....what does everybody think of spending Saturday night in Kettle Falls?

Ken, Kettle Falls on Saturday night sounds good to me. Should we plan a pot luck dinner? We're planning on driving to the lake on Wednesday & just cruising the lake on Thursday & Friday. Would it be best for us to launch at Seven Bays & spend the two days getting to Kettle Falls or should we launch at Kettle Falls & use it as our base? We would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks,

Do you guys know anything about Hunters Campground? I had it recommended by a friend. It's between the Spokane River and Kettle Falls. It's supposed to be a nice campground with a great boat launch that works at at all water levels. Not quite as far to drive as Kettle Falls, but then I guess when you've traveled that far, a few more miles doesn't really make a difference.

Hunters campground is very nice, nice ramp also. In the B~C album we have a pic of the boat tied to the float at Hunters

Looks like there is plenty of water in the lake & the weather is going to be decent so we're all set to head to Lake Roosevelt.
Here is our plan--on Wed June 2 we'll drive to Seven Bays Marina & spend Wed. night there; on Thursday & Friday we will work our way north getting to Kettle Falls Marina sometime Saturday June 5; on Sunday we will head back to Seven Bays spend the night there & drive home on Monday June 7.
How does that sound :?:

Lake Roosevelt cruise--how many boats are going? I know Pat & Patty of Daydream can't make it. How about you Ken, Jeff & Diane, Doug--will you guys make it?

Wade, Jeff, Diane,

Just got the word that the Navy changed the schedule of the ship I am to ride and I will be unable to make the Roosevelt Lake run. I was looking forward to this more than any other so am going through a major whine but got to work to pay the fuel bill. I'll be thinking of you all and looking forward to hearing how the trip went. We plan to make the trip before the end of June so note the lessons learned.

Doug/Liberty Call

We're not signed up, but we're trying to get there. We won't know if we can get out of here until a couple of days before the event. If we're able to break free from work, we'll land there Friday evening and stay by where we put in. We'll then try to catch up with the rest of you on Saturday.
Lyle

It sounds as if you have a good plan WadeV. I think we may end up towing to Hunters on Thursday night. We have to be back home on Sunday and that would make it a bit easier. We'll have the radio on, if nothing else we'll meet up in Kettle Falls....should be an enjoyable trip + after the holliday, gas prices should drop down to at least a buck a gallon (in my dreams)

Great, we'll probably pull in pretty late and not even launch......I was looking for info on Kettle Falls and found that they're having their annual Town & Country Days that weekend...we may get to see them crown a new town grouch

Wade, that dock at Hunters just juts out into the lake, if it's windy you might consider motoring on up the river another 10 miles and on your left you'll find a nice protected cove.
