I can get some of the requested info (about your boat) from your profile but need the rest of the info in my previous post. Please respond by e-mail or PM, forgive me if I missed one, I'm trying hard to keep up (and work at the same time!)

Charlie

You may not have noticed but Ed and Elaine on BAY RANGER, an R-25 have signed up to attend (I didn't even have to push them) the Gathering in June. They just completed a 2800 Mile ICW cruise from and returning to Annapolis. Their story is posted on the Tug Nuts site, HERE for you to read. It's coming out in installments.

I've been talking to Ed on that site and he's agreed to give an informal summary and answer questions at the Gathering on Saturday after dinner (and maybe the Kazoo concert). Please read the Tug Nuts postings so you'll be familiar with their trip!

Charlie

Glad to have the Ranger Tugs attend. Of course you don't have to have a C-Dory or a Ranger Tug to attend. Wannabees are always welcome. Good chance to take a ride and talk to the boat owners.

Remember Tom has designed 2009 T-Shirts. He assures us that they will be sporting both C-Dory and Ranger Tugs. The shirts are $15 each. Please let us know how many and sizes. SMLXL
These will be your souvenir of the great 2009 Chesapeake Gathering. There are many of us that have quite a collection of shirts over the years.

Also if you haven't signed up yet, please do so. We have some great things planned and of course there will be plenty of time to visit other boats and just talk about our boats. Don't be left out. Great food, fellowship and music! Make sure you call the marina for reservations.

After all the rain on the east coast stops, we will be getting our boat ready. This is usually our first trip for the summer and we are looking forward to seeing old friends.

Doug & Anne

Ok, we're up to 24 C-Brats signed up. I still need some info from some, have sent e-mail to those directly that I need to hear from. We need to put our order in for t-shirts soon.

We still have a little parking room left in Tom's field, I have spaces reserved for

Naptime
DoryLvr
Dan & Judy

We've got room for three more. If we run out, we'll figure out something.

Charlie

At this point I am planning on attending... Probably will fly to an airport in Delaware (Summit County looks workable) and rent a car to get to the marina... We will arrive Friday afternoon the weather gods and the &%*$#! TSA permitting... I will need to find lodging for us for Fri and Sat night...

I am looking forward to viewing the boats and see which one we should purchase - at least I am looking forward to it, I suspect Char is more ambivalent...

I see chatter about a sign up, but haven't tripped over it yet, so consider this fair warning...

Hemlock, Mi

Glad to have you both. There will be 16s, 22s, 25s and at least one TC255 along with a couple of Ranger 25 tugs.

You can find lodging in that area by going to:

http://rockhallmd.com/lodging.php

We've stayed at Hotel Tallulah's on Main which is very nice. It's listed under Hotel/Motels at that website.

You can sign up by going to the top of the home page and clicking on Event Signups and then picking the Chesapeake Gathering selection.

Look forward to meeting you and Char in June

Charlie

Glad to see all the chatter about the Gathering. Won't be long til we are headed to Maryland.

Remember you have til May 22 to place your order for T-Shirts.

Get in touch with Charlie for info for his spreadsheet. This comes in real handy. We need people count for food & drink purchasing.

Just another reminder, Friday night is pot luck - bring something to share (soda, water will be provided) Saturday night is the main meal of crab cakes, cole slaw, fried chicken, hot dogs and lots of fun!

Doug & Anne

I'm starting to get responses to my e-mails for info for the attendance list spreadsheet, thanks!

We've got one of the six parking spots in Tom's field left. The five I have are

Chas231
Dan & Judy
naptime
SydMargo
DoryLvr

If there are more, get me the info soonest. If we run out, we'll figure out something else.

The launch ramp is NOT at Langford Bay Marina but at Long Cove Marina and you need a permit from a third place (Toy's Sporting Goods) very nearby. If you need directions by land, please PM or e-mail me. We're up to 25 Brats signed up so far!

Charlie

Charlie and Tom,

Langford has a permanent/seasonal pass that they let marina customers use instead of buying a launch permit. Last year I went to the marina first, picked up their permit and then went to the launch ramp.

Guess that's changed since I launched my old Captain's Choice, in 2006 (2nd CBGT at Langford). You used to have to buy a permit ($15 for 3 days I think) from Toy's outdoor store. This is a lot more cost effective but still a little inconvenient.

Sorry I am going to miss this event this year. Had a blast last year and it was great to get up in the NE waters. Sherryl will not let me come out and play this weekend due to a previously mandatory fun trip with her employer... Will be "ruff-n" it in some swanky hotel in Charleston 5-10May.... but, will be watching dailey for updates from laptops and the steps of the marina office.

Terry/Last Dance.... be sure they enjoy a few red and white hots for me.

I will be playing my Chester River CD....

Byrdman

Byrdman,
Bad news..we will miss you. I was looking forward to us getting up at 5am and doing a cardio walk for five miles in hilly roads..!!!

We'll think of you...not too bad to be in Charleston...under any circumstances.

tom

Grin.... :smile and I was looking forward to a new CD :note and for sure some of that great, healthy, sausage/gravy biscuits too.... :smilep :smileo :wink

Maybe I can count on at least one morning knowing that yall will take up a table, not the round table of course  , but a good size table and several servings of the sausage/gravy biscuits. I will go ahead and take a double dose of the cholesterol pills during that time period. :thup

And, I am truly sorry I will have to miss the walk..

Thanks Bill for the Rock Hall website. It is a cute little town and the trolley does come out to Lankford Bay Marina, so if you come by boat you can still get into town. Of course there is always someone with a car willing to drive you in too. The town is about a 10 minute drive. We especially like the Oyster Court shops and Tolchester Revisited Museum with pictures of the steam ships that used to come from Baltimore to Rock Hall and Tolchester early part of 1900's. And of course the amusement parks and hotels of that era also.

Also glad to see the message about the temporary ramp permit that Lankford will lend out. We don't like to advertise that too much but good for out of towners. Since Lankford foots the bill, they let you know when you call up for reservations.

Only about two weeks to go. We have been making plans and getting things ready for a great time. This year we have a special surprise for Sunday morning breakfast. New this year as a special send off for everyone we will have omlettes made to order and more.

We also have some great items to raffle off, T shirts and remember to bring your kazoos from last year. ( we will have more kazoos for new C-Dory and Ranger Tug friends)

As in the past, an agenda with activities and times will be handed out as you check in at the marina office. I always enjoy greeting everyone, giving out name tags and seeing old friends.
