All C Dory, Ranger owners, and wannabes are welcome to join us at our annual gathering at Lankford Bay Marina, just off the Chester River, on the Chesapeake Bay...this year we are considering a Poker Run, expanding our food choices, (definitely more crab balls), and a post-gathering cruise down the Bay. Watch for more information!

Terraplane, count Soapy Joe and his wife Tina in! We wouldn't dream of missing it & I second the motion on the crab balls.

Tom, alas, we will probably not be able to come again this year! That could change of course, what the heck are Tom Callahan's plans? Sing me an extra fine chorus of The Chester River Song! And of course, Charlie, sign us up for the teeshirt!

Tom, got it on my calendar for this summer. Was up NY way for a short visit and play in the snow with Terry from Last Dance and made an official winery visit for QC of the Red Cat. Season looks good and see yall in Jun.

Tom, the nerds gotta do it. I'm sure they'll see this and get 'er done.

Sally and I will be there with the "new" TC255. This year I'm gonna have AC. Last year, Sally spent much of the time in the cockpit with her feet in a bucket of ice water!

Snowing like heck here right now, I'm sure it won't stick/last but it sure is pretty!

Charlie

Charlie, It is good to see you are "in" for the gathering...and I'm assuming your tech expertise is again on loan...thanks.

Byrdman has expressed some interest in spending some time after the gathering getting around the Bay. What do you think of this plan:

Sunday, June 8...depart for St. Michael's in afternoon..overnight, anchor out
Monday,June 9...to Crisfield....Marina
Tuesday, June 10..to Potomac
Wednesday, June 11..Annapolis (long day?)mooring
Thursday,June 12, Baltimore Inner Harbor..marina
Friday....home

Maybe we could gather up some boats for this...The itinerary is, of course, completely open and suggestions are welcome.

That sounds good. I'd modify it a little to head for the Potomac first, that would let those heading down the bay home to go with the flotilla for a day and continue South or head up river. It's a long trip, very dependent on the wx but we did it in one day last year it's about 110 miles. Could overnight at our place here if folks wanted. I've got lots of pier room now and power and water there will be in by then.

From there, back up the Bay to St Michaels, Annapolis and Baltimore...

Are you going to the Boat Show in Seattle next week? Sally and I are making the trip this year.

Charlie

Charlie,
I'm not able to make the Seattle show this year. I'd love to do it, but my Mainstay duties prevent it.

I like the idea of starting at the Potomac but fear the distance might be onerous for some....Maybe a run to Solomon's overnight, then Potomac, then working back? Anyway, could be a fun outing.

I'm hoping one of the Keepers of C-Brat will see this and put our gathering on the special list on left of home page.

On this cold, snowy night in No. Va. it's great to start thinking about the rendezvous in June. :smiled

The Schiavos - Lou, Nadine and Sammy - will be there in our new CD 25, "Skimmer II." We look forward to seeing everyone. :D

Just got back from checking the boat..SALLY'S SISTER, in her slip...icyl cold, good snow today...I go down to see her almost every day...just a mile from the house..Last night i intended to take her out, but got caught up in some small maintenance details...It was blowing about 20, so, with Wallas going,I had a Jack D., cooked up some chili, and listened to Muddy Waters..never left the slip.

Looking forward to June..but Winter is fun too.

After having to cut short yesterdays trip to Fredricksburg due to SNOW I am more then happy to put the 2008 Lankford Bay Get-Together on the calendar. Count on Mary and I to bring C-Song up the Bay to meet with her old and new friends.

If we can help with the organization in any way just let me know.

Good work Charlie,

How long would it take us to go from Lankford down the the Potomac? You've done it a couple of times i think.

Good to see that sign up list...our "committee' will be meeting sometime next month...as usual, if anyone has suggestions, ideas, things to change, please feel free to let us know..

Terraplane.

Judie and I will be signing up for another trip in "Passages." The cruise down the Bay sounds great. Last year, Judie and I stopped in the Patuxent River anchoring out in a secluded spot way up at the end of St. Leonards Ck Sunday night prior to heading home up the Potomac the next day. Look forward to seeing you all, and thanks to Charlie for setting things up.

Happy New year to all!

Tom, it's about 110 miles from Langford down to our place. We did it in about 6 hours last year, all depends on wx speed made good and wave height, etc. Probably should count on an overnight on the way, Wayne stayed in the Pautuxant last year, see his post above. Could spend a night there and then a night at our place after venturing part way up the Potomac.

Wayne, I don't do anything but the attendance list and name badges. All the credit for arrangements goes to Tom and his crew.

Bill and El, I'm sure Tom will entertain! Are you folks coming this year? Sure hope so!
