Sounds good Wanderer! The planning committee thought it would be great to give the group the opportunity to see the slides. Don't know about electricity in the pavillion but I think there is an outlet somewhere nearby. Alaska trip is something we all dream about taking and your picture journey will be the next best thing.

What days do most activities happen on? I have event I'd like to attend that
weekend, and could go either Saturday or Sunday. Thinking maybe going
to the C-Brats gathering on Friday-Saturday, but we would need to leave
Saturday, around 5:00 PM. Otherwise, we could head down and arrive
Saturday around 7:00 PM and stay through Sunday.

Thoughts?

Say, does anyone know if they are going to have T shirts again this year?? Last year's were GREAT! In addition to the ones I ordered, I bought 3 of the leftover's last year. REALLY HOPE that we'll have new 07 one's for this year. :lol:
 
We are about two months from our gathering...We'd love to see more signups, and we don't want you to lose out on a slip.

If you have an idea for the event let us know. I , for one, would like someone to guide me through the maze of fuses, switches, the main panel, other areas, fuses on Wallas...in short, a crash course on this stuff..
There are other areas which come to mind...stocking for a cruise, fuel issues, and the list goes on. We could have some volunteers who would agree to be the "teacher" and we could meet at their boat sometime over the weekend for the seminar..

Let us have your thoughts.

OK, Tom's back, now he can really play "Banjo on my Knee", with a new knee!

We've got 14 signed up so far, 4 or 5 new ones and some old hands. I'm working on the attendance list and as soon as we hit 20, I'll post it and start filling in the holes as to when you arrive, etc. If anyone needs the marina directions/phones, just post a request. As the time gets closer, we'll get directions to the place to get a launch permit, etc. posted.

I'm also working on nametags again, seemed to help last year. Every once in awhile, someone forgot who they were and could just look down and find out (upside down).

Sign up please!! I've got info from the old attendees and will be asking for some stuff I can't get off the profile for the newcomers.

I'd like to attend if I can work it out. I will be driving my boat from Washington, DC - I'm guessing about 150-175 miles by water. What is involved to reserve a slip?

Friday night we have a pot luck supper get - together to meet other C-Dory friends. Saturday is checking out our boats and this year we hope to have some technical advise?? and maybe some slides from Wanderer of their Alaska adventure. Saturday night is the big entertainment night with crabs, red and white hot dogs and many other goodies. Live music and fun for everyone.
Last two years a group has gone off to cruise to St. Michaels or Rock Hall harbor. This was either Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
There will be another planning meeting before June and after that there will be a more detailed itinerary. We are very organized and hope to see you whenever you decide to come.

It is a beautiful marina, very friendly and clean.

Don't know the miles, but It is a good day and a half trip for sure...we made the trip in reverse, from Lankford to D.C., (and then back down to Alexandria) in 2005 on Otter (courtesy of the Callahans, when are you guys coming out here to cruise Daydream in the San Juans?) Sorry to say, we did not keep a log book, but the first day we got just around the corner into the mouth of the Potomac, found a nice little river or creek to go anchor in, then the next day on up the Potomac. A very memorable cruise for us!

Saturday afternoon of the gathering is open time..Some go on a day trip to Chestertown, or Rock Hall, or Kent Island...some wander the myriad creeks in the area. some stay put.

Wondering if we might put together some volunteers who would be able to help others on such topics as the following:

...the mystery of the electrical control panel behind the dash

...putting up the canvas on the 22, start to finish

...engine won't start? what to do first

...packing for a two week trip

...tools you must have on board

...and any other topic that comes to mind

These may seem simple, but all would have been useful to me in the first weeks after getting my boat.

It is official! We will debut the C-Dory All American Kazoo Band and Chorus at the gathering in June. We will need about 20 volunteers on kazoo (provided) and robust singing voices...singing off key is an asset.
We will debut the Lankford Bay C-Dory Blues. Officials from various recording companies have been notified and it is possible that Queen Latifah will want to do a rap version of the song...If so, this will enable our next gathering to take place in Tahiti, and pay for the cost of shipping 25 boats by freighter.

The music for the gathering keeps getting better. I have just secured the services of my Irish friend, Owen McCoy, who will do a set of Irish rousing songs...This might be our Friday night stuff.

Just wanted to check in and say that the crews of C's the Day and Melsway will attend again this year. We have a slip resv. for Sat. night.

Hooray for the Kazoo band -- and the addition of some good Irish music, not to mention the outstanding performances of Terraplane Tom both at earlier Chessie Gatherings and at the Seattle Boat Show!!! What a show you're planning, Tom. Good on 'ya!

I love this picture. As a performer, it always reminds me that people have many ways of enjoying my playing, including sleeping.

My lab, Chessie, used to howl when i sang.

June will be here in no time..We are having a record breaking cold Spring...no boating so far. We are not as tough as you Left Coasters.
