You could DIY, just build a box. A "flip back seat is very easy to make--basically the back is "hinged" on a bolt at the bottom, inboard and outboard. There are stops at forward and aft positions. You can use this "locker" lift off the top.
But with the flip back seat, you cannot have a dore on the front.
C Dory has a fiberglass excursion, the lower part , which fits into teak slots on each side of the box (fore and aft), so you lit this out, turn it around, and put back in the opposite position.
I would try and find out what the previous owner did with the standard cabinets.
Below is what the seat looked like before--you can see that the back cushion is facing aft, to revers, you put the back of the seat in the teak wood slot seen.
Is the cabinets for the foot rest in place between the two seats and forward of the seat?
