07/16 - 07/18 - Bellingham, WA CBGT

Using my best questionable judgement, I crossed from PT to the Juans late this morning. Big water for a little boat! We had a good spell of towering swells in the ship channel and beyond, but then things calmed a bit toward Smith Island. I am happily anchored north of Spenser Spit for what would be a pleasant night. Hopefully Harvey will join us for the remainder of the trip tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to the return-to-Bellingham.

So what I want to know is who is Bob, who had the iPad at Fri Harbor? What boat? If he comes around with that iPad, watch out!

That would be Bob Burks of Sea Pal, or so I am told. Sorry, but I will not be able to make it to Bellingham this year.

Things are looking good for me to make it there a little after daylight on Saturday morning. The boat won’t be finished but hopefully it will float. The engine is on but we are still waiting for a fuel sensor for one of the fuel tanks. Tom at Tom’s Outboard in Olympia says it will be here by noon tomorrow. After the engine check, I will load up what I need for the trip to Bellingham and leave just after 3am Saturday morning. I look forward to seeing everyone Saturday Morning.

Warren – I sure hate to miss you. I would like to get your opinion of the Marinaut. It would be nice if you could come Saturday instead of Friday.

I hear there is a group of C-Dorys at Sucia this evening. Calm as can be I am told.

I will be in B,ham tomorrow noonish, but I won't be in C-Run. Too complicated with company coming from out of state on Monday.

Dave, looking forward to seeing the new boat! And looking forward to seeing old and new friends alike.

We are here in Bellingham on the Jacari Maru. We've gotten a tour of Joe & Ruth's new Ranger, what a beauty. A few C-Dorys are already here, and waiting for the party to commence!

C-DORY FACTORY TOUR FOR THE C-BRATS SATURDAY MORNING @ TEN O'CLOCK

Earlier this week Joe and I were up to the C-Dory factory in Ferndale. Spent some time with Scott who gave us a tour of the factory. Unable to confirm with Jeff at the time whether a tour would be possible but he just contacted me this afternoon and we're good to go :thup

With so many folks arriving by boat means that automotive seating might be limited. We'll just have to wait and see what's available Saturday morning.

We wil have to depart from Squalicum Harbor @9:30am

The truck is packed and the boat is hooked up. I'm shooting for an early start to miss Portlands rush hour traffic. Hope to be there between 2 & 4pm.
I am SOOOOO ready for this vacation.
See ya seen

Well, I won't be there on the on the boat. Weather, a finicky barn door, and no guts, I guess are the main reasons. I may drive up. Sure would like to see the Marinaut and the factory tour. AND ALL MY BRAT FRIENDS. You all travel safe, now I heard Ruth and Joe are leavin' the light on for you.

OK, for all the newbie Brats, here is the deal on the beer. David (Anna Leigh) and Pat (Daydream) own a brewery (Snoqualmie Brewery and Taproom), and are known as "The Beer Guys." We are happy to bring a keg to C-Brat Get-Togethers, BUT once we bring it, it becomes the responsibility of the Brat BEER DRINKERS to ice down the keg and keep it iced down! I will arrive with the keg on Friday. David will arrive with the CO2 and cobra head on Saturday. We will tap the keg on Saturday, but it will need to be kept iced down from our arrival on Friday until it is empty! Don't let us down! First time I have brought our Kolsch, this is a VERY nice light but flavorful brew, one of my new favorites!

Newbies, do like Pat the Beer Guy says and you won't regret it! He and David brew this region's finest adult pop.

Have a great time in Bellingham, Brats. This one's always a chart-buster because there's a lot to do, the weather's great, you're on your boats and your buddies are everywhere. I'm not going to make it this time because I'll be bicycling, but I'll be thinking of you and wishing good thoughts. Be safe!

Just went back through the thread looking for the time for the Pot luck Sat PM. Did see it would be on the dock. Can bring a small table. Will have land transport available for the tour trip for so me.

Time of the Pot Luck is :?: :?: :?:

Thanks,

Harvey

Harvey,

I just checked with Ruth and the Pot Luck dinner will start about 5:00-5:30 or whenever there is food on the tables!

The tables will be set up outside our boat on the dock, so just look for the C-Brats banner.

Larry,

Thanks for the time. I am looking forward to being there before that. Looks like I didn't pick the winning lottery ticket yesterday either. The folks from the peninsula all made it. Glad for them. Looks like it should be a great weekend.

B'Ham Friday Update. 28 folks had dinner at the Bayside Cafe. Lyle and Shelley (formerly Bess C) arrived from Yakima with boxes and bags of cherries. Lots of visiting. Just a great time seeing so many of our dear friends and meeting some new folks, too, like Jim and Marty from Idaho. Expecting some more Brats tomorrow. Been a long day. Goodnight.

Dave, that is one FINE looking boat! :thup :thup I'll be anxious to hear the buzz after the Brats get to see it up close and personal. Congratulations on making this happen.

Give our regards to the Bellingham Brats - wish we could be there to share the handshakes, hugs, and comradery.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

"I woke up this morning and there was a party going on!"

And it was right outside my boat. C-Brats were drinking coffee and munching sweet rolls. Dave has arrived with the new Marinaut 21.5 and that's one nice boat. The crowd has now gone off to tour the new factory. Pot luck starts about 5:00PM. Any C-Brats within driving or boating range are welcome to show up. Bring your favorite food.

Oh yeah, the keg is here, courtesy of the 'beer brothers'!

Wonderful folks, lots of warm sunshine, happy dogs, tasty beer, great boats to explore, including a couple of Ranger Tugs and of course the new Marinaut!

This event is as well organized as ever with Ruth and Joe the wonderful hosts, and dinner is coming up!

Mark your calendars for next year and plan to join in the fun!!!
