07/16 - 07/18 - Blakely Island

He coulda been in Cathlamet, for sure! Made me nervous at least, if you couldn' tell...I did not see any sea lions swimming around at Blakely, but now you have me worrying about THAT too!

Hey can rookies like me attend?

I just bought my 22' Angler a few months ago, but since Blakely is just up the road a way, I figure we have to make it.

Guess i better finish getting NobleTec and my second battery installed.

Absolutely! Better call the marina and get a slip assignment though. So what are you bringing for the Saturday night potluck?

Hi Everyone :!: Have been out of touch for about a month. Just finished getting slip C-10 reserved, good luck for Jeff... not too far from the :beer garden! Has anyone signed up to bring "Green Jello with Shaved Carrots" or "Tater Tot Hot Dish" :?: Just want to make sure that Jim and Cynthia's favorite food groups are covered. Can't wait for another blessed gathering with the gang. We had such a grand time at Lopez :D

I stopped into Blakely Marina Friday and talked to Norma about the gathering. She was telling me that the Liquor Control people are enforcing the open liquor laws at marinas. You can drink on and by your boat but can not carry open liquor off the docks.
We also will need a permit to have liquor at the pot luck. I will volunteer to get these permits but need to know if we need a permit for both Friday and Saturday or just for Saturdays pot luck. Norma wanted to make sure everyone knew how important it is that we follow these new rules.

Hey you's, M and I are going to try to make the Saturday night show......A couple from school will will most likely make the scene also. Dale built his own 22' C-Dory type boat and after years of careful craftsmanship, finally has it in the water, so be on the lookout for a pirate ship :)

That's funny - they also gave ME slip C-10...(see message on prior page, June 4).

You should feel lucky - they were glad to take my reservation, but didn't give me a slip at all...

I think I'll call back and ask for C-10.

The TyBoo should be in slip A-10 for Friday and Saturday nights. We'll have quite a crew aboard, and they are anxious to meet you all.

Just no one, or body, or boat, or dog and boat, try to be in C-8. One of the two pony kegs of beer will be there and if the spot is filled when I arrive I will have to go somewhere else. And I won't tell where!

This kills me, but I just can't make the drive this year... I don't have use of my left arm and Susan my wife can handle the boat, I hate to ask her to drive all that way ....it's about a 3 day drive each way...
The doctor tells me the rotator cuff is intact, but the capsule (whatever that is) is frozen... and hurts like hell when I move my arm. Good thing I am right handed. Funny thing is I don't have a clue what I did...but whatever it is will take 12 to 18 months to repair itself.... I have been using lots of vicodin (for 5 months) but being afraid of becoming hooked I switched my pain killer to red wine...and a few asprin.
We will be there next year with Fishtales...

Joel, that stinks, you should wait untill winter to get hurt. Sorry to hear you two folks will miss the trip.......the yard will always be here when you do venture up this way

Hi All,

The crew of the Nancy H must also cancel on Blakely. I fell and broke my left wrist, and I won't be done with therapy until Aug 1. :cry

We will be up in the Northwest for some mild cruising in August and September. We might still be around for Sequim at the beginning of Oct.

The Doc says the wrist will be OK if I don't stress it too soon. :thup

Please be careful out there.

Well, I knew that Oscar was quite the stud when I met him at Lopez, but never imagined that we would be room mates at Blakley :P :dog I'll have to check again to make sure we are not double booked :!: Maybe C10 is the hot spot, It could be like "How many People can fit in a phone booth?" Are C-Dory's Stackable? I'll give you the 411, or heck... Maybe DaNag can join us in C10 also :wink

Joel-
Hurry up and get better, mate. We gotta get out there on the water. Peace Dive Center is having a BBQ at their shop on Telephone in Ventura on the 19th
I contacted Jeff at the factory and He said it will take 3-4 days to fix the stress cracks in the gell coat and replace the counter top with a new Wallas. We will be scheduling it for the first of August 2005. We will be leaving here after work Friday, July 29 and arriving at the factory on Monday, August 1, 2005 to have the work done.
