09/04 - 09/07 - Mississippi River Gathering

Having a great time here, as we always do with fellow C-Brats. Got attacked by flying carp which was an experience I will never forget! So glad our schedule allowed us to catch so many C-Brats gatherings. Thanks to all of you who organize us!

Bixby's, Pelican, Falcon, Little Bit on a sandbar 49 miles north of the Ohio River confluence, still eating Terry's hot dogs.
Little Bit heading up the Ohio tomorrow to Kentucky Lake, the other 3 on to Memphis and Little Rock.

Hello All,

We are back from the wedding trip. It was a wonderful time!
Looking forward to seeing some pics of the gathering. Hope all went well and we are looking forward to next year.

Sounds like a great time was had by all. I believe that the meet in the Middle on the Mississippi is the must do event of the year. So sorry that Jan and I along with the Tully B could not be there with you all. Hopefully, next year we will be there. Blessings to all who attended. Lee

Thanks to all C-Brats from the Alton Marina. What a great group and from such a wide area of the country. We hope you all had a wonderful time and that we met all of your expectations. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again in the future.

Still on my bucket list of gatherings to make. Enjoyed following this on the site. Great to see some of my seasoned C-Brats still making bubbles and enjoying the waters!

What a wonderful gathering! Great folks and the setting was so welcoming.

While we were there, several folks asked what type of portholes we have installed in the cabin of our v-berth area. These were installed by the previous owner and they are wonderful. He gave me all of his paperwork when I bought the boat and I just went through it. I found the invoice on the porthole purchase and they are Vetus portholes, type PM21. Specifically, the part number appears to be PM21PB. I believe the removable screens are sold separately, HOR21. I did a quick Internet search using this info and found several current vendors.

What a great gathering!

Thanks to Ken, Pat, Tex, Sharon, Terry and his brothers. Anyone who contributed "behind the scenes" should also be commended for organizing such a nice gathering. We made many new friends who we hope to spend more time with them the future.

The follow on adventure was inspiring. Hope all is well with Bixby's Cub, Pelican, and Falcon if they are still on the rivers of the Central US.

Have a safe trip home,

Scott and Barb,

You guys have been officially indoctrinated.

Enjoy Powell.

We are having breakfast on the water in Little Rock this AM.

and will trailer up and head home soon.

Just posted some photos of the gathering. We had a wonderful time. There were too many highlights to list them all but our top choices would include seeing old friends, meeting new ones, touring other boats and trading ideas for modifications and trips, eating at Fast Eddies, and the fleet of C-Dory's traveling together through the locks to the St. Louis Arch.

The crews from Pelican, Bixby's Cub and Last Dance went above and beyond to make this event one to remember. Thanks guys... you did good!

Mississippi Gathering 9/4/2014 to 9/7/2014

This Alton, IL. event started off with a bang and ended like a roaring lion at Little Rock, AR. Man it don't get no better than this!

Tex on "Bixby Cub" (alias Mark Twain or Colonel Sanders) out leader planned everything, the first night potluck with Terry at the grill with all the trimmings and a comedy by Mark Twain, an impressive cruise of nine C-Dory boats down to view the great St Louis Arch from the water, and then an adventure of a life time down the mighty Mississippi River and up the Arkansas River to Little Rock, AR. 798.6 water miles. Riding the rails aboard Amtrak back to Alton, IL. was an overnight first experience for the crew of "Falcon".

Thanks to all who put their arms around old people.

The crew of "Falcon" will definitely be their in 2015.
