09/09 - 09/11 - Sequim Bay Gathering

Joe & Ruth – we must have just missed each other. I got on that ferry going the other way, just made it as I was the third to last vehicle on it. I had just finish with a visit with Les at EQ and did not want to fight the Seattle traffic going back home.

Hi Les,

Don't know about everyone, but it sure is acceptable to me. Looking forward to seeing you here.

As to the Armstrong tour, I am planning on having that time available, and will be able to help with transportation.

Les,

The more the merrier! Harvey took most of the photos used in the Marinaut advertising at last years gathering.

Looking forward to seeing you and the boat.

Twelve boats and counting! I just checked the sign ups after returning from Canada yesterday. There was a small craft advisory on the Straits and we could have water skiied across it was so smooth! Go figure..

Would those coming please e-mail or PM me if you need name tags and if you wish to attend the Armstrong Factory Tour at 1:00 PM Friday? Thanks.

Always room for more C-Brats!

Looking forward a beautiful weekend at the Sequim Bay State Park.

See you there.

It looks like I can make this event and will be showing up with a fishing friend since Kathleen must work. Interested in prawns crab and some fishing. May need to show off my roof rack what with all the pots and related cargo.

Great news Steve,

See you then. Maybe Tom can give an update of fishing and Shellfish opportunities. Sequim Bay itself is closed for shellfish due to a toxin seen only here! Lucky us

I will be there but don’t know when or how. Looking at the weather, it looks like it may not be too bad that week end. If that is the case, I will be going there from Olympia by boat. I will leave mid morning Friday and arrive late afternoon. If the water conditions are bad, I will tow my boat there and arrive late Friday Afternoon.

Chris,

Like Dave said, the Sequim CBGT is next weekend so yes you do have time, but just in case there is a monkey in the wrench, Kingston is not that far off, and you can come by car if that is easier.

Head to Sequim, turn right about 4 miles before town, (Sequim Bay State Park) go down through the park and turn right following the signs to the group camp, not the boat launch. Then when you see the water, stay left until you find the big long wooden walk out to the floating dock. We'll be there.

Ooh my gosh I thought it was today.

That is an entirely different story. Driving to a sail-in like swimming to a fly-in.

The part is ordered. The Mechanic says the motor is brand new looking and has less than 100 hours on it.

I do want to come. You want me to come to because my boat is so old that you will all look better next to mine.

I am trying to think of a new name. The last owner was a music teacher...hence Sea Major. I was thinking along the lines of Dauntless or Courage or Bad Starter.!

Well the boat came with a full guarantee...If it breaks in half I still own both halves!

Chris,

Hope you can get her fixed in time. You can imagine how many threads there are on boat naming.

My favorite:
"Wife's Name" :disgust Seen on a Tollycraft in the California Delta.

It looks like this is going to be a perfect weekend for the Sequim Gathering. The weather looks good for the entire Puget Sound area so I will be going to the CBGT by boat. I will leave Olympia at 1000 (10am) and arrive in Sequim around 1700 (5pm) on Friday the 9th. I have posted my route with approximant times at different mile markers along the route. Click on the thumbnail of the route for a larger version. If someone would like to join me for the entire route or join in somewhere along the way, let me know and I will send my cell number so you can call me to aid in hooking up. The times are approximant however I can modify them to accommodate you.

Susan and I are planning to come Saturday morning. We will over night on the boat in La conner then leave thru deception pass in the a.m. and head south. Its about a 35 mile run total , so two hours should see us there not including fishing.

Here are some last minute updates on the Sequim Bay CBGT.

The tour of the Armstrong Marine factory has been scheduled for as late in the day Friday 9/9 as possible. We will plan on arriving there at 3:00 PM. It's about a 20 minute drive from Sequim Bay State Park. The tour will last approximately 1 hour.

I estimated 6-12 people participating. If you would PM or e-mail me your intentions, I would appreciate being able to give them more accurate numbers.

If you do not have, or have misplaced, your C-Brat name tag, PM or e-mail me with full names, boat name and model, trim color and home port.

The latest weather forecast for Sequim calls for 76 degrees Friday through Sunday! :thup :thup See you all soon.

Roger
