Just a heads up they have been closing highway 6 because of fires. It is open right now but they might close it again. You can get a Utah DOT app for your phone that should show the status. As you get closer you might want to check. You can get around it by going to Provo to Heber and Duchesne and than to Price. Or south to I-70.

I was told by the 911 Dispatch in Utah that in any state you can dial 511 on your cell phone and get DOT hiway information. I have tried it in WA, OR, ID and now UT and it worked. You will probably still have to resort to entering a number on the pad for access to the area or hiway you want info for though.

Wish you all a great and safe time. I just got home from Princess Louisa. Two weeks out, beautiful water, and some of it was under me. (Rain for too many days.:cry but the waterfalls were beautiful.

It was a great trip and fun to see everyone again. Always lots to explore. Changing water levels make everything different all the time.

Came off the water today, and sleeping in a Green River, UT, truck stop tonight. Had a great time meeting everyone, seeing a few old faces, and especially spending the rest of the time on the water with Steve and Tina (& Dexter & Eddy) of Outlier. Saw a lot, but always so much more to see. Even did some rock climbing looking for a geocache in Bald Rock Mountain. Also made some new non-C-Dory friends, that may some day become C-Brats! (Charlie and Kathy, you'd be more than welcomed to the group. Bring that houseboat next time for the meeting house! lol) I'll see about starting to upload a few photos tonight, but if I don't get to it, I'll upload some when I get home. Oh yes, just outside of Iceberg Canyon there was some NPS activity going on yesterday. Sadly, I learned it was for a drowning this past Saturday. Colby

Thanks for the great photo album contributions. We wish we could have made the gathering. Life on the bison ranch demands that we be here to get ready for winter. We have had snow off and on now for a couple of weeks here in the Great White North. We are looking forward to some time in the sun in our shorts instead of our long johns. We are off setting off for the 2000 km drive to Bullfrog this weekend and plan to be on the water on Wednesday. The photos posted will be valuable for planning where to explore and camp. If you see 'Mistaya' on the water, say hello. We should be on the lake for two weeks.

It's been fun to follow this, even part time. Thanks for posting and for the pix. I'm at the dock on Sucia Island for a mini gathering. Colby, I ran into some friends of yours here. They saw my C-Dory and came over to tell me I have a cute boat and that you took them for a ride. They are from Madison W, and keep a 35ish footer in Laconner. Nice folks. You all be safe traveling, Colby, I have spent several nights at that truck stop. Hope you slept well.

just finished a wonderful 12 day cruise on Lake Powell. It was so nice to meet the western c-brats- as always, fascinating stories and a wealth of knowledge that is most appreciated. Special thanks to Colby on Midnight Flyer for being an awesome tour guide- he let us tag along and showed us many beautiful canyons and found great spots to beach for the night.
We are headed to the California Delta and we are reading past threads on the area to guide us- the c-brats come through for us again!! Thanks everyone!!!

I just got home from Lake Powell via Yellowstone Lake for several days. Learned a lot about Yellowstone Lake, but that's for another post. I should have my Lake Powell photos up and running today.

Peter and Judy,

I've got a spot in the garage for 'Mistaya' when you come off the lake. Enjoy your drive and cruise.

We had a wonderful adventure on Lake Powell during the first two weeks of October, despite a lot of rain and rapidly falling lake levels it was a great adventure.

We would like to thank Brent and Dixie for their hospitality and for storing "Mistaya" in their great toy box, while we explored the parks of Utah. It is alway nice to make new friends. Thank you again and I hope our paths cross again.
