09/29 - 10/01 - Sequim Bay, WA

Well, C-Cakes was not able to be there but my daughter and I were on a restaurant deck in Port Townsend Friday about 2:00 and saw four C-Dorys cross through Port Townsend harbor on their way to Sequim. They were too far out to see names but it looked like a 25, two 22's, and a 19. A little later as we were waiting to board the ferry back to Whidbey we saw Kingfisher coming off the ferry and waved but weren't seen.

Sorry we missed it but we had a great time over in Victoria with our daughter, good Orca sighting on the way back and one of those all too rare chances to have a good time with the adult kids.

Next year in Sequim. :D

I am finally getting caught up after the Sequim Gathering. It was great to be there and I enjoyed my time with everyone. I wish I had a better short term memory and could remember peoples name after meeting them. I forget a persons name in less than a minute after meeting them for the first time. I remember the person, just can’t associate him or her with a name on the first meeting.

I am sorry I missed the members that had to leave before I arrived Saturday morning. I was looking forward to meeting Dusty again and giving Carl (C-Devert) a ride on my boat.

I should have spent more time socializing and less time playing on my boat. However; I did enjoy my cruise to Port Angeles with Slow N Easy and Dog House on Saturday. It did get a little rough out in the straight and I felt safer knowing there were two C-Brats around to rescue me, if the need arises. Thank you Bill (Slow N Easy) for the plaque. I am trying to decide where to put it. Sunday I took a trip around Protection Island and experimented with trim and speeds on my boat. I left at noon Sunday and saw the C-Ya in Rochester around 3 pm.

Barry & Patti,

We did see you in the ferry line as we were "white knuckling" up the ramp that being our first time negotiating entry and exit to what seemed to be a very small ferry. Sorry didn't risk a wave.
The guy with the RV in front of us is getting a CD22 in October and Dusty was somewhere on the same ferry.
Seems like CD's take over wherever we go !!

My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting our first C-Dory owners, and asking them thousands of newbie questions, at the Sequim gathering Saturday.

If we do buy a C-Dory -- which is the direction we're headed -- it will be as much for the camaraderie of our fellow owners as for the virtues of the C-Dory itself. What a great group!

Thanks to all we met for your kindness and help.

TyBoo, thanks for thinking about us. That stout shot B-C mentioned pretty well describes how I feel.
I contacted the factory & they didn't seem to want to get involved. They suggested I let Sportcraft Marine handle repairs.

I think the reason for this is that Sportcraft Marina is a C-Dory dealer and you took your boat there first, so they do not want to take business away from one of their dealers, who is capable of making the repairs.

Slow-N-Easy made it home safely Tuesday night.

What a great time we had meeting everyone. Thank you all for making us feel welcomed. Looking forward to making it up that way again soon. Not only for the Boat Show, but to put Slow-N-Easy back in the water to cruise around and spend more time with CD owners.

Slow-N-Easy...great meeting you! It was also good running into you at Port Townsend on Sunday...the weather made for a nice treat on the way home!

Glad you had a safe trip home!

I too would like to add a word of thanks for the good time at Sequim and for the pizza offered up on Friday night. Merv and I had a great time. Did anyone happen to get the website for the bride and groom? It would be fun if we could get a copy of the picture they took of our whole group and post it on the website.
Thanks for any help from anyone.

The bride was Kerry Hinds and the groom was Lee Miller - I Googled this and came up dry, except for a hit on this site for the caption of one of the pix I snapped! Maybe someone else will have better luck, I definitely think we need that shot they took of us!

Bill of Slow-N-Easy and Kevin of DogHouse - I posted two new pictures in the Sequim CBGT album. One of Slow n Easy and the other of Doghouse when we went to Port Angeles. I took 10 photos of the two boats when we were underway, however the ones when it was rough did not turn out very well. Every time I turned around to take a picture it seemed like an exceptionally large wave would hit as I snapped the picture.

Many are still good and I know how hard it is to get pictures of your boat underway, I thought I would send copies of the boats to you if you want them.

Send me a PM or email me if you would like them. My email address is on my C-Brat card in my photo album. I will burn a CD and send all of them to you.

I also sent this as a PM to both of you.

It is always the first Saturday and Sunday in October and preceding Friday, so it appears it will be October 5, 6 & 7.

It's time for me to request my vacation weeks for next year. Does anyone know when this event is gonna be held in '07?

Kudos to Slow-N-Easy for sending us an honorary 2006 C-Brats Sequim Bay Gathering Plaque!

We hope to actually make it there next year...
