10/10 - 10/12 - 6th Annual Santa Barbara Seafood Cruise

We had a whole lot of FUN and WIND this year at the Santa Barbara Seafood Festival!!!

'Twas a little rough on the trip up Friday morning, but we were able to travel at 12 - 13 knots.
The winds hit after we arrived in Santa Barbara.
The food was good and the company was great.

We had two new attendies this year-
Kent and Marcia with a 23' Venture
and
Lee and Nancy with a 23' Cape Cruiser
Welcome to the group!

In addition, we had 6- 22' C-Dorys and 1- 25' C-Dory.

The dock party was cool and breezy, but fun anyway.

We left Santa Barbara early, before breakfast, in order to beat the winds and it turned out to be a great day.
On the return, we stopped and watched some whales just off the Rincon.

After arriving back in Channel Islands Harbor, we met up at the Anacapa Yacht Club for a meal of BBQ Rib Eye strip.

Roger,

Thanks for setting up a great trip. It sure was nice and relaxing hanging out with everybody in Santa Barbara. Now its back to reality.

Roger,

Thanks for putting together this event, another fantastic get-together to end 2008 (at least down here in SoCal). You understate that Ribeye steak Sunday afternoon, it was to die for! :thup

Melinda and I had a great time on the trip. Coming up Saturday mid-morning AFTER the winds had nearly 24hrs to work the ocean and were still building definitely slowed our travel. 23nm (from Ventura) took us 3 1/2 hrs. But still a great trip, good food and great company.

Roger,

Great Job! :D Thanks for organizing this get together!

We had a wonderful time at the Seafood Festival with the added benefit of meeting some great folks with a shared love of boating.

We first became aware of C-Dories over at Two Harbors last year, did lots of research and even flew up to Seattle to visit to the factory before we made our purchase. This was our first "brat" event and we really enjoyed it! We're very sorry :cry we missed the closing dinner and we'll make sure to participate in the whole event next year.

Thank you to everyone for your sound advice on equipping your boats. We now have a huge list of "to do's" for winter projects.

We're looking forward to the Delta and Two Harbors events!

We had a great time in Santa Barbara....Just wish I had some long pants to wear while there.....I was cool .....

But the best part was Rogers BBQ....Wow ! was that good... I think that was the tenderest meat I have ever had.... Yum... next year I just might skip the Festival and eat at Rogers.... OUTSTANDING !!!

Thanks ..... Great job as always..

Well, I finally found a great boating partner.....Muffin had a great time, said Roger's rib eye was the best she'd ever tasted. As usual, the So. Cal. mantra held true again......leave early to avoid the winds. Winds howled at all times except when we transited, making the cruise very pleasant and safe. Thanks to Roger and Pat for putting on another great cruise.
