Time to start planning for the 3rd annual Santa Barbara Harbor and Seafood Festival.
I will need to know who will be attending so I can get the reservation cards from the harbor office.
We will be leaving Channel Islands Harbor Friday, October 14 and spending 2 nights in Santa Barbara. Returning to Channel Islands Harbor for the BBQ at the Anacapa Yacht Club on Sunday, October 16.
Those of you that can't come on Friday can come in on Saturday and spend 1 night.

● Marine Mammal Mezzanine
● Opportunities to work like scientists, sampling and testing ocean water,
studying animal behavior, and examining microscopic marine life
● Live tidepool animal encounters
● A theater showcasing the wonders of the Santa Barbara Channel
● A store providing unique, marine-themed merchandise

HOURS:
Daily 10 AM–5 PM
Closed major holidays

ADMISSION:
Adults $7.00
Teens & Seniors $6.00
Children $4.00

I expect to have some fresh home brew for the dock party!

This looks to be a "Banner" year for the Santa Barbara Cruise. Hope to see all who can attend.
There will be live local crab and lobster on the docks to chose from. Pick the one you want and they will cook it for you.

Looks like we will have 11 boats in attendance-

C-Pup
Dora-Jean
Islander
Koinonia
L'il Rascal
Rana Verde
Sealife
Sea3PO
Water Lillie
Tera Lu
Fishtales

In addition to the boats, we will have some driving in for the day- all are welcome.
If you haven't sent me your address-- send now, please. I need to send out the slip reservation cards. You need to fill out the information on the slip and return to me with a check (made out to me) for the slip fees. The amount needs to be for how many nights you will be in Santa Barbara. The Harbor Master requires me to pay for all reservations with one check. Thanks in advance for your promptness.
Also- I need to have a count of who will be staying for the BBQ on Sunday. Again, we will be having the BBQ at the Anacapa Yacht Club in Channel Islands Harbor.

We will be leaving Channel Islands Harbor the morning of Friday, October 14. We can leave early and stop in Ventura for breakfast as a group, or we can leave late in the morning and you can have breakfast on your own. Vote on it.
Those of you arriving on Saturday, don't forget that the harbor will be very busy with the festival in full swing.
When we arrive in Santa Barbara you will need to contact the Harbor Master for your slip assignments on ch 12. After you are in your slip you will need to go to the Harbor Patrol Office to activate your gate/bathroom/shower access card (or buy one if you don't already have one-~$7)

The new Ty Warner Sea Center is a point of enterest. Located on Sterns Wharf, just a short walk from the harbor.

I'm not one to stick to a schedule---- but
Friday-
Lunch is at will
Dinner- I will make reservations at a local restaurant (need head count)

Saturday-
Breakfast at the Breakwater (next to the Maritime Museum)
Lunch/Dinner on the docks - FRESH Lobster and Crab
Evening- bring snacks for dock party

Sunday-
Breakfast- early at the Breakwater or Sambos
BBQ at AYC

Roger - How about starting the thread back up by copying your initial post from here over to the Dog site? Maybe just the text pasted into a new message. Something funny seems to be going on over there, and while we are very willing to link to your discussion for you, it seems to keep disappearing.

Or, as always, you are very welcome to do the coordinating on our very capable forum. The signup list and announcement have been in place for a while. Whatever it takes, let's make it work. This little adventure you're cooking up is one that I can see myself and family wanting to do in a couple years. And B~C will follow me anywhere.

Good idea Mike. Thanks. I re-posted some of the info from here.
You guys are welcome to come down anytime--- I don't know about B-C though, if he follows too close behind

I restored the link you included in your second post to this thread.

Don't worry about B~C following to close. He drives a Ford and I'll lose him for good on the way up Grapevine.

2005 Santa Barbara Cruise is history. Great time, food, friends, boats.

Had another great time with friends.

We even had a good breakfast Friday morning---- even though the restaurant wasn't open---- I called the Greek for breakfast, but they informed me that they do not open 'til 11:00 on weekdays, so I called Le Petite for reservations- oh yes we are open at 08:00 on weekdays--- they weren't(dang French)! So we had breakfast at a small eatery in Ventura Harbor-- it was good.

We were able to get almost every one on the same dock in Santa Barbara. All the way at the end of the very long dock. We gave John from Bakersfiald a slip that was closer to the gate so he wouldn't have to walk so far to his bike.

The dock party was a blast, it was good to meet Thompson and Susan who drove up from Redondo Beach- keep looking guys- there's a good used 22' out there for you somewhere.

Sunday we awoke to weather warnings of water funnels, rain, lightening and localy high winds headed in our direction. Most of us forsook breaking our fast and made way back to Channel Islands Harbor and the BBQ.

I let our expert photographers, Ron and Mike, take the pics this year.

Thanks to all who made us so welcome up in Santa Barbara. We had a great time. Now I have to start shopping for a boat!

If Steve, Roger, or anyone else up there needs a dive partner give me a holler!

Thanks again,

Thompson & Susan
