Nancy and I will be launching sometime Wednesday morning and heading over to the Panama City marina---then bumming around the area for the day.
Thursday heading over to the Water street marina for the night and then bumming/cruising around the area---St George, Dog Island----then on to John's Riverside retreat for Friday-Saturday-Sunday.
Looking forward to a few days of cruising, sightseeing, and relaxing.

Going to pick up my boat after the intital break in service on the motors...and just might drop a Yamaha EF3000iSEB on the boat. It does weigh 151.8 lbs dry...so call it about 160 lbs. That may prevent the "kinda honest" folks from just walking by and picking up one or both of the 60 pound gens :amgry ... or. have them moving slow enough some other actions can take place if they are still in range 
It pretty much clons 30Amp shore power. Size is about right for a "box" of some type in the cockpit behind the bulkhead wall of the cabin. Shoot... I might just bring some 1/4" plywood and some structure lumber....and we have some building blocks time and see who can come up with the best box award!! Nothing like getting C-Brats on site feedback and gaining from all the "what if we did this" ideas.
Will drive down Thursday...and depending on when I really get out of Clarksville, either stay on the road somewhere enroute, or make it on down and launch. Time will tell.
Really looking forward to seeing my C-Brat friends!!!

Not sure how large (dimensions) that big genny will be, but if you remember we have discussed housing the generators in some ready-made box like one of the Rubbermaid Action Packers. They look great and eliminate the design/construcction problem for those of us who are not retired woodshop teachers!
If it's too big for one of those, Rubbermaid and others also make garden storage boxes that might be appropriate. Lots of folks here on Shasta Lake use them on their houseboats and on the dock as dock boxes. They're about 1/3 the cost of a dock box at a marine chandelery.
Keep your lifejacket on and your shotgun loaded!

Well...I think we have everything loaded. Only time will tell for sure. Jim (Duck) and I along with the ladies and dogs are heading out for points north at midnite. So Marc, you can expect us to arrive your area around daybreak and ready to pitch in and help you guys get ready for the weekend.

Hey Joe! Thanks for the reminder on the box. Gotta go by Home Depot for a bit in the morning to let the Nashville gotta-go-to-work crowd clear the area... Got the gen "hog tied" now for transporting. I can always use a box or two in the garage. Great idea...again.
Got a call from smiling blue eyed Mrs. Brenda & Mr. Bill....on the Falcon. They have been blessed with much better travel weather this year, and are breaking in the new hotel and dock. Sweet place it sounds.
I plan to arrive in Eastpoint just prior to dark. Thursday..as to keep the bugs off my pretty just waxed boat. Yes, I am going to show up in a boat with wax on it, AND...my fenders all match, but not the ropes. Too good of a deal on close out brand ropes at the "local" Boaters World Clearance box...

We used the "Action packer" last year--but after using it on Powell, and Catalina, with the 1 KW Honda, we decided we wanted a more robust box. We found one at Wal Mart in Calif--and have a couple at home--they are about 50% bigger than the action packers--and are sturdy enough to sit on, climb on or put the inflatable on. Also more room, for the "Stuff" we found got wet in the "fish boxes".
We will be going fast both ways--mostly because of medical appointments for members of the family. But happy to share places to stop.
We had some moderate thunder storms today--but they were short and intense. If caught out--in some cases, it may be best to find shelter off the ICW or even anchor if visability is markedly reduced. The weekend looks to be perfect weather!

We will be shoving off in about an hour--in less than ideal conditions. Heavy rain this AM, with thunder storms, and tornado watch in the Santa Rosa Sound area--it will take us 2 hours to get there, allowing for fueling etc. So hopefully the severe winds will be gone. Should be an interesting run. Thank heavens for modern navigation systems--just follow the magenta line~!
Edit at about 10: 30 we had a serious toronado in down town Pensacola--with damage to Pensacola Yacht club. Fortunately we had not left yet--and Marie was at the hospital for a check up--she kept getting put into the hallway--so it has delayed our departure--but we are still on track to be heading out, assuming no further toronados.

Well, Dab-nab-it! I couldn't arrange a shift swap for this weekend, so Joan and I will miss the GCG. We were really looking forward to attending and meeting the folks who've written/responded to our posts, as well as the other Brats at the Gathering. We hope to return to the Eastpoint area soon and take a closer look at the C-Dorys. May everyone enjoy a fantastic weekend and please post some photos of the Gathering. We'd like to see some of the fun we're going to miss.

Well, Mr Bill and Brenda... I'm glad you dodged the storm bullet this year and are in the comfort of the new hot spot in Apalachicola enjoying the sites. I remember last year when you two rolled in like you had spent the day in a washing machine.

Glad to hear you and Marie were not out on the water during the storm. Do be careful ! Sue and I were on the phone talking when you gave us your update about not having left yet. We were both relieved. She was informing me that C-Pearl was not in the direct line of fire of the tornado and was still fine.
Cathy and I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. We may not have a boat. Rain and the storm has delayed getting the work completed I was having done. :cry

Well its never a dull moment here in the Panhandle . We have had very little in the way of storm action so far . Bill and Brenda made it , Bob and Nancy are here and the Duck/Papillion contingent are tied up and enjoying them selves . More are on the way and we will fill in the blanks tommorow .

Just saw the report of the damage and the toronado in P'Cola on the National News. You guys and girls keep your heads down!

Thanx for the invite, but I guess I should have cleared it with SWMBO before asking. :roll: :sad :unlove (thought for sure she wanted to go to the blues fest and I could talk her into a side trip for an hour or 2) I guess I should be happy she wants to watch the football game this PM. (go Noles)
