#1000 - Woo hoo!

up untill the factory stepped up, smelt have been the standard issue prize for all contests. It has always seemed to work well, no squabbling over who won, no added logistics of actually awarding the prize..BYW..what's your mailing address?

Listen.......

Jackets, smackets, hats, schmats, beer openers, schmeer openers, etc.....

Nobody gets by without the requisite package of vintage schmelt sent right to your front door!!! Now pony up that address!!!

Oops, guess that includes me! Better shut up right now!!!

Congratulations to the winners, Jack and Betty, and Gary. That was a great contest, and I am sure if I would have had 10 or 12 more hours, I could have figured it out  Thanks to everyone who helped put the "drawing" and contest together. This is a great site!!!

I have to admit it was a pretty comical site, standing out in the rain, with mosquitos bitting my feet like I was some kind of last meal, trying to keep a phone line connection to the computer and trying to out fox some very cleaver folks. It was fun. The C-Dory "C-Bay" gathering was a blast. What a super group of folks. Robbi

Okay, what's the deal with smelt? When I picked-up my boat at EQ we spent a couple of nights at the State dock close by. Every day there were people catching smelt.

Is this an acquired taste? It is mainly used for bait and contest prizes or do many people eat them? I have been temped to buy the frozen ones I see at Safeway just to try them. So enlighten me, what's up with smelt?

Jeff, you are so kind. Actually, Don is a walking advertisement for C-Dory and he proudly wears his hat every day (except when we go to weddings). XL is perfect so Don can have more reasons to talk to people about our new C-Dory. It's kind of like getting the kind of attention we get when we're in the boat. We haven't had one outing when someone didn't say to us how nice our boat is. Thanks!

Our first post and now we are not one of those 1000 members that have never posted. We purchased our C-Dory 22 primarily because of the obvious owner dedication found on this site. Answers to most my questions have been found on this site.

Our cruises: Ouachita, Black, and Red Rivers (575 miles) March 2005. We launched at Camden, AR. Our destination was Shreveport, LA. Hustling fuel was a challenging task. We ate lunch at Alexandra, LA, had one shower at Colfax ,LA. It was a great trip.

Arkansas River (375 miles) On June 2005 we launched at Little Rock ,AR in to 95° plus temperatures which made sleeping in the V berth difficult. Marinas with fuel presented no problem and Holiday Inn has a shuttle pick up. The marinas were accommodating.

Our next cruise We want to continue down the Arkansas River and into the Mississippi River and eventually down to the Gulf of Mexico. We want to do this when the weather cools and my seaman ship improves.

I sure would like to cruise with an experienced crew like Bill and El.

Welcome NEMO! Not sure what the good reason was but we're very glad to have you. Everyone has something to add, some more valuable than others but all valuable in some way.

Go for two and tell us something about yourself and NEMO!!

Cool website BTW. My daughter went to UC Santa Cruz, the home of the "fighting bannana slugs"!!

I went to the USN Post Graduate School in Monterey, a long, long time ago, what a great part of the world!

Gonna go back now and read some of the rest of your website! :D

The reason was a chance to win that very cool looking bottle opener, hence the smiley.

I just bought Nemo from someone near Fresno, and have since been waiting for some decent weather to take her out. We've had quite the series of storms here in normally beautiful Santa Cruz. This morning I woke up to a nice coating of hail outside, which is a first in all the years I've been here.

I'm very excitied to finally be a C-Dory owner, and I look forward to some meaningful posts in the future once I've gotten a chance to get to know my new boat.
