10th anniversity of the first C-Dog (C-Brat) gathering

Kudos to Brock for starting a great tradition. I remember reading Brock's post on the old C-Dog site. I made the journey from Des Moines WA to Langley in my trusty Toland 18-8 for the first C-dog gathering. I met Dave S., Brock, Roger, Fred, and "the usual suspects" that post here on a regular basis. The C-Brats are a great yacht club. A sense of humor is required, no blazers or white slacks allowed.

Best Regards,
Leo

Speaking of Catman...

We had a Catman sighting last Sunday. We were pulling out of Andrews Bay and somebody on a bike yelled something from the shore that we could not understand but I heard "Pat." So naturally we headed in as close as we could get and had a quick exchange of "hellos" across the water with Brock, who said cycling was his "new passion." I hope he has not given up on his "old passion"!

Brock has told me a few times about how he remembers my first post on the old C-DOG site in 2002: "I don't know when, I don't know how, but I WILL have a C-Dory one day." As it turned out, it was a whole lot sooner than we anticipated, we signed the contract and plunked down the deposit at the January 2003 Seattle Boat Show! We had our christening in the rain at Swantown in Olympia in March, and the rest, as they say, is history!

WOW how 10 years have gone bye. To think it was around end of 01 and March of 2002 that I first hooked up in real life with Bill and El on Halcyon.

Then, as fate would have it, Tom and Marge on Pelican later cruised with us on the Cumberland River where my Brother Mike and Sister-in-Law Miss Brenda saw then "Pelican", bought her a few years later, name change to "GYPSY".... and they too began their many travels on the hull.

Just last week Mike, myself, Brigner and Ranger Dav made a trip to Annapolis, MD to turn GYPSY over to her new owners, the trailer to another owner in the area who we will for sure return to see some day via the water....

And then there was the first year some of us got together around the Seattle Boat Show and I met the Johnsons (SENSIE) and oh how many great times and road/air trips has that turned to!!! Then, Blakley Island gathering that I attended soon after our Bama/TN gatherings. Wow..the memories and fun and journeys in America all around our boats.
