15 hp kicker on 26' Venture

We just picked up our 26' Venture from Doug in Wisconsin. We are curious if anyone has mounted a kicker without an additional motor mount? We have a swim step on the port side, so we will be mounting the kicker on the starboard side. Will the kicker motor clear the trim tab?
 
We used a Mini Jacker on our 25 and the kicker just clears the tab. Had I to do it again, I'd have a custom SS mount made.

I'd run a line or plumb level from the tab and measure the distance from the stern and go from there.
 
Thanks for the tip. I will dig out my Grandpa's plumb and check out the clearance. On another note, I noticed you are from Lake Stevens. Our daughter and her family were just transferred from Lake Stevens, WA to Louisiana. I will really miss the occasional weekend trips to Taylor Shellfish Farm.
