19' angler load capacity plate

Hi kids. When I bought my 2004 19a the only capacity sticker on it was the remnants of a hp maximum of 100 hp. Law requires any boat under 20' to have a load capacity plate. Using the formula, I can Carry 9 people but I can't figure how to stack them. If my motors,batteries,brackets & controls weigh 650 lbs, 288 lbs of fuel,200 lbs misc extra gear & 4 people in the seats at 150 each, that brings me up to 1738 lbs. the formula ,length times width devided by 15 equals 9.28 people at 150 lbs each is 1393 lbs so I'm already overloaded by 400 lbs ? If I only have 2 on the boat I'm only overloaded by 100 lbs. If the hp max is 100 hp & I only have a 70 & a 9.9 how can I be overloaded. It certainly doesn't look, act or feel overloaded. I've never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the package so what am I missing besides a high IQ ? Vern
 
That's the same calculation I used. If their example of 10, x 30, divided by 15 equals 20 people, can you still stack 20 people on the boat if the boat had 3 200hp motors & don't forget the 300 gallons of fuel to feed them. There's something that doesn't compute here! This 15 watt bulb is still in the dark! Vern
 
How about the info from our plate:

On a 2003 19 angler it says...

recommended hp 70
max hp 100

6 person or 1000lbs
1450lbs: persons, motor & gear
 
19 x 7.66/15=9.7 x 150= 15=1455.4 in passenger weight. The boat's carrying capacity includes the weight of a 100 hp engine--not factored in.
The weight of a 100 hp outboard would be about 365 lbs--added to the theoretical weight this gives you 1828 lbs.

However this is only a suggested weight in the formula. Nothing "legal" about it. Lets say you had an open boat with a freeboard of 12", you would obviously be in trouble with 1828 lbs. ON the other hand, with the higher freeboard C Dory 19, you are fine probably with 2000 lbs.

How you stack them in? That leads to all sorts of conclusions!

I have never weighed our 22 loaded, so I don't have any idea of what it weighs. However, I suspect we are !overloaded" by any formula when the boat is loaded for a month cruising, yet not unsafe.
 
Thank you gentleme for the replies. I had 5 guys & 5 crab pots in the boat once! Never do that again!! Anyway, I feel better now. I have an email to the factory requesting a capacity plate so I can be legal. Dr Bob, as for how you stack that many people. I guess it's like the old joke, how many elephants can you get in a Volkswagen? Simple, 2 in the front, 3 in the back!! Thanks again boys! Vern
