Hell folks, I live in the sf bay area. Im wondering if anyone can tell me if the 19 or 22 angler is an apropriate boat to take out of the golden gate bridge? I would like to fish the reefs for salmon as well as near the farralons for rock fish. of course i would watch the weather. I would like to cruise a little bit also thats why im looking at c dory. I am considering arima also. any thoughts from local or other c dory folks? Thanks

I can not speak to going out under the bridge, but you will not be disappointed with a c-dory. I take mine out in the open water in Washington and in British Columbia, hard pressed to burn a tank of fuel when running fifteen to twenty miles out and trolling for salmon all day, I do not think you can do that with any other brand of boat. If you mind the weather and are smart about what you do on the open water a C-Dory will take more water then you want to be in.

I live in Santa Rosa and have my 22 Cruiser at Spud Point Marina in Bodega Bay. You've probably heard the expression "Blowdega," and it's well-deserved--there's a lot of wind and some major seas up here.

I take my boat out into the open ocean in all kinds of conditions and have learned that the boat performs well in big seas. As I'm sure you're aware, the c dory will pound in the kind of chop found in SF bay and going out the Gate, so you will have to slow down to be comfortable, but I don't think you'll be disappointed in the seakeeping qualities of the boat. You just won't go as fast as the deep vs.
