great price for a great fishing boat

And there's another older one available right now, for even less!

Wish I was 15 or more years younger and lived on the coast, somewhere!

I have my eye on both of these boats right now, but every time a larger boat catches my eye, and I start getting serious, I think about parting with my 22 and wonder why I would ever do that.

What can the 26 Pro Angler do that my 22 can't (except shed water from the cockpit, and cost more to run)?

I've crossed that mental bridge dozens of time before, too, and I always come back home to the CD-22 Cruiser as the simplest, most user friendly, and best investment on this side of the planet.

To be sure, there are thousands of boat designs out there and tens of million potential boat owners, but this one is the simplest common denominator between them all. KISS Personified! Why make it otherwise?

It can hold a lot more crab or shrimp pots. I can more comfortably fish four anglers from the cockpit. I will likely ride a bit better through bigger chop due to the extra weight. You can have larger cocktail parties in the cockpit. Do you need it when you have a perfectly good 22? Probably not. But there are almost certainly things it can do that the 22 can't.

I looked at a lot of boats and have decided on a 25 cd crusier when the time comes in a few years, for me the extra nearly 3' of cabin, shower, more room for a dingy, head not where I sleep and living aboard for 4 months at a time swayed me for the bigger boat, each boater will have different needs, If I lived in SE AK a 22 cd would likely suffice fine for trips with home nearby. I cannot see a real right or wrong choice as everyone has different needs, expectations. I think one must really look at all possible factors thru clear eyes and with solid facts and data on the boats in question then make an educated choice, leaving the "guy thing, bigger is better" factor out of the equation. I was really leaning for a Sea Sport 26 or bigger but I just do not need that much boat unless I put 30' trolling polls, mast, and gurdy system on her and buy another entry permit. Been there, done that gonna play this time.

As you can see from my signature I have had a 22' Angler Classic and now a 26' ProAngler.

The 22' got twice the fuel mileage (5 mpg vs 2.6 mpg), 22' speed limited to 17 mph in any kind of rough seas, the 26' cruises easily at 25 mph, 22' fishing deck 1/3 the size of the 26', cabin width the same as the 26' but about 3' shorter, access to the front deck and anchor very difficult compared to the 26' walk around deck, I surf launched the 22' by myself but not possible with the 26' (too heavy and hard to get aboard in t he surf). No fish holds in the 22' but have 3 large ones in the 26'.
Neither one is fancy or plush but very functional and easy to maintain. no fuzzy stuff in either one. Head set-up is the same.
The 26' just feels so secure and comfortable in rougher weather that I accept the lower fuel mileage.
I did ask my son to let me know if he is going to sell the 22' as I might decide to change back to it as I grow older or have them both....!!! Got to have options...Jack

Jack has it wrong; the 22 is the best boat C-Dory ever made. If you bring Seasport into the mix the 27 pilot, which is very different than the 26, is maybe is good as Jack's boat.....cause his is just awesome!
