1999 22' C-Dory Manual Windshield Wiper Replacement Blades

Some years ago, I managed to find replacement blades at Advance Auto Parts, but they say they now do not have any of the correct kind. I then checked West Marine with no luck. I cannot identify the manufacturer of the wipers on the boat. The blades are 12". Anybody have any info on what replacement blades I need to find and where to find them?

Thomas, Try "Speedway Motors" in Lincoln, Nebraska. They are a "hot rod" and antique car restoration parts seller. This blade was used on some of the older cars and trucks back in the 1930's.

If you need the whole set up, that's another matter, because removing the arm off the knurled knob on the end of the motor shaft is sometimes/oftentimes very difficult due to corrosion. There are several threads on this topic over the years. I seem to remember that getting a puller tool specifically designed for the job was a major step in making the job doable. Here is one place to start from:

This above is a search for "wiper" on this site. Look at the topics and browse the ones that seem to be about the arm replacement, though the ones about the motor replacement will also necessarily involve the removal and replacement of the arm.

Talked with an ANCO technical Support rep who referred me to ANCO 20-12 Windshield Wiper Blades on Amazon for $21.92 a pop. We talked a bit and he seemed sure they would work. I ordered 2 and will let you know if they work - fingers crossed!

If you need "the whole blade" but not the wiper mechanism, I suppose the Anco blades are the way to go if they fit, but if they don't, we got Sea Dog Manual Wipers on Amazon to replace our burned out electric wipers on our CD-25. The wiper mechanism fit right in the existing hole, and the blades just slipped on. I can't explain why, but when we bought them they were $25 for the whole manual wiper, and now it appears they are $34. Lots of other places carry them. They are just like the manual wiper on our CD-16.

There are multiple sources (NAPA for existence) for Post war Jeeps--which use a straight blade--and will fit.

I have kept my old SS parts and always just carry the wiper insert along. They are about $6 for a 24" blade--enough for two of the 12" blades.

The ANCO 20-12 blades (rubber insert and metal suspension), were an exact replacement for the wiper blades on my C-Dory, and were super easy to install. Great to have this accomplished! Thanks for all the input!
