2007 C-Dory TomCat "Stray Cat" for sale at EQ

Hi all, this isn't going to be my normal post to refer you to our website to see this boat. I will put this boat up on our website but without all the information I'll post here.

We sold this boat new and the middle aged couple (read...a bit younger than me!) that purchased it wanted it rigged and outfitted very nicely. It's likely one of the nicest boats we've done. I got a phone call a few weeks ago that the husband had died and was asked if I'd sell the boat. I'll tell you right up front I hate theses sales and would rather sell a boat for almost any other reason. Most businesses might look at it as losing a customer, in almost all cases we lose a friend.

This is a low time (177 hours) fresh water boat; the boat was picked up and taken to Lake Pend Oreille in northern Idaho where she has remained until brought back to us a couple of weeks ago for sale.

Stray Cat is powered with Honda BF150s and she's on an EZ-Loader TomCat trailer with spare tire and walkway, and electric over hydraulic brakes. The boat has seen very few hours of use and is in excellent condition. Honestly, this is just one of those boats everyone would like to buy as a "used" boat (and I don't say that without a lot of meaning behind it).

The list of equipment is extensive and all the boat gear (lines, fenders, etc) goes with her.

Here's a partial list:

- Twin Honda BF150s with Perma Trims
- FloScan TwinScan Tachs and flow meters
- Full Honda gauges for trim, volt, fuel, etc
- Raymarine E-80
- 4KW radar
- Custom radar mast (powder coated)
- AIS 250
- Simrad AP16 autopilot
- VHF
- KVH electronic compass
- Stereo with Sirius, with remote at helm
- Prosine 2.0 Inverter/Charger
- Cabin fans for front windows
- Docking lights (inset in bows)
- Wash down system
- Stainless BBQ
- Microwave (never used)
- Coffee Pot (Cuisinart)
- Inflatable PFDs
- Life Sling with lifting tackle
- Full Camper Canvas
- Interior window covers
- Padded travel cover for front windshields
- Inflatable with Honda BF2 outboard
- Honda EU2000i portable generator
- Manuals for onboard electroncis and equipment
- And without meaning to sound egotistical at all...EQ rigging and outfitting

The delivered price on the boat in July of 2007, without the dinghy or Honda EU2000i which were purcahsed separately, was $130,000 (without taxes or licensing).

This is a really difficult boat to price due to conflicting issues of low hours, fresh water boat, condition, extensive equipment list all balanced against a somewhat lackluster economy. I really want to get the boat sold for the window but I also want to get her a fair price for the boat.

I'm going to set the asking price at $98,500 and encourage reasonable offers. It would be difficult to get a new TC255 for that price with just the hull, motors, and trailer. This one is turn-key and ready for a cruise.

Thanks for putting up with a long-winded explanation.

Sad way to get a boat. Someone will get a very nice vessel. Thank you for your caring way of presenting this. Not easy. George

Les, I too want to say thanks for the way this sale was presented. I can understand some how tha feeling goes. My boat came from a similar type of sale and there is not a time I go out on it that I do not think of, or appreciate the work Jim and Dorie put into the planning and work they did to make SleepyC the vessel she is.

That Tom Cat sounds like a very similar deal and someone is going to get a great boat. I hope they appreciate all that went into it when they do
