2009 Nordic Tug 26

On Page 25 in Nor'Westing magazine (issue July 9 - Aug 6) there's a small article about Nordic Tug producing a limited special edition of the Nordic 26 just in time for the 2009 Seattle Boat Show.

When I was working the Tacoma Tall Ships , one of my patrol boats was a 26 Nordic Tug called Tugger. In talking with the owners , it is the first 26 to be sold and was the SBS show boat in 1980. They gave me the scoop about the resumption of the Nordic 26. They found out at their Nordic Rendevous about it. It shows me that Nordic isn't too happy about Ranger's 25 getting that market covered.
I got on and looked Tugger over and decided that the Ranger is still better in my opinion, mainly due to the fact that there are too many steps up and down to navigate aboard the boat.

Randy at Cummins NW told me about this boat a little over 2 weeks ago. He said that Nordic Tugs will only be making a limited quantity of these boats (I think he said 20).

I received the same e-mail from Ballena Bay Yacht Brokers. Nice looking boat, however if you look at the starting price of 185K and that doesn't include generator, A/C, Electronics, etc. someone will easily have well over 200K into this boat after it is outfitted like the R25 that I paid 150K for and the Nordic Tug isn't trailerable (9.5' beam)...

Don't get me wrong, I love the Nordic Tugs and almost bought one before putting a deposit on my R25, but you just can't justify the price difference and the fact that you can pull the Ranger down the road very easily. Dollar for dollar the Ranger is the way to go.
