2012 C-Brat Calendar

In an effort to avoid last years last minute scramble to get the calendar ready, I think it will be nice to get the process started a bit earlier this year.

Do any of you have any suggestions on how to improve the calendar from last year? Was the size good? Printing quality? Price? Layout and design? Photo choices?

I'm happy to do the calendar again this year, but if someone else thinks they can do a better job and wants to take over, that's fine too.

After I get some feedback on here, I'll open up photo submissions (get your high resolution C-Dory photos ready!) and get started on creating the 2012 calendar.

Last years calendar was great. I love looking at it as it hangs above my deck at work. My only suggestion would be to include holidays and gatherings. It would be great to have all the gatherings nation wide on one calendar.

on edit: and the start of the fishing seasons :wink:

Adding gatherings is fine but many aren't finalized until after the calendar should be printed and distributed. Holidays don't change (or are decided well in advance), gatherings aren't always.

Nice calendar although I didn't get one last year, I will this year!

I am so happy to see this post! I was just staring at the calendar above my computer at work, dreaming about being out on the water, and thought, heck, September already, time to think about a new calendar.

I will search my photos for some good ones. I definitely want one again this year.


I agree with holiday addition, that would be nice. Quality was very nice.

Add the moon phase?

Add some horizontal lines to make each day a square to write stuff in?
 
I totaly enjoyed the calendar this year. the only recomendation I would make would be to try to get a good random sampling of all models of the C-Dory's from the pre 1987 classic to the 2011 modern versions. 14 thru 27 ft models.

You did a GREAT job on the calendar (of course, I am very partial to "Miss March" 8) ) - it makes me smile every time I look at it. While appreciative of your post asking for improvements, we have the utmost faith in your decisions on what to put on the calendar... as long as it features C-Dorys, it's a hit!

For those who want gatherings included on the calendar, write 'em on there as soon as you see something posted. Easy. And if something gets left out, it's 'cause you left it out. The more "stuff" included on the calendar, the more work for Sam.

Make it pretty (and you have already shown that you can do that), make it available. We'll be on the list to buy the next one. Our thanks for the fine job and your willingness to do so again.

Wow, last year's was great. You already set the bar pretty high. Shows you know good pix when you see them. Thanks for your efforts. As for improvements for next year ----> change the dates to 2012 :wink and you have it made, well almost.

I really liked that you gave credits to owner's, photographer's, and location. The format was great. Holidays would be easy to add, I think but CBGT's -- tough to get that info this early. Would be nice to have in time for Christmas, and might make for more sales.

I've finished up the calendar and have ordered a copy to make sure everything looks good in print.

I did add in major holidays. I did not add C-Brat events since many haven't been finalized yet. I tried to get a good mix of different boats but it is still skewed towards 22's, 25's, and TomCats. There are a couple Ventures in there as well, and one 16. I think they're spread out pretty well across the country (and Canada).

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a way to add horizontal lines...the template provided by Lulu that offers full page pictures doesn't offer horizontal lines. Weird.

Hopefully my copy will come this week or early next week, everything will look great, and you all will be able to order soon.

Attached below are the photos that are included. Thanks to everyone who sent pictures in, there were a lot more great photos that I got that I didn't have space to include.

And if anyone who has a photo in the calendar wants any of their information changed before they go out to everyone, let me know.
