I had the opportunity to chat on the phone yesterday with a salesperson from Bulldog Boatwerks in Fort meyers, Florida. Shame I cant remember his name. Nice guy and the dealership was great in helping me start to plan a 3 week vacation to explore Florida this fall with my 22' Cruiser.

During the conversation, the salesperson mentioned the 2007 price increase from C-Dory of 8%.

Where some individuals may awkwardly react to such a price increase... in my eyes this is a great testament towards the demand for our boats and solidifies the "value" our hulls will retain over time.

A good news story indeed for current owners of these great boats.

No surprise. Just the cost of materials would eat up the 8% increase!

At that rate, the boat will double in cost every nine years. Or a $50,000 boat will cost $100,000 in 2015.

I would assume that the high oil prices are affecting the cost of production.

With annual price increases like that, it makes me happy to know that I purchased a quality vessel that will "live" longer than I, as long as I give it a bit of tender love and care!

I was looking at the pics of your boat. I saw pictures of what appeared to be shoddy workmanship. Am I missing something? Was your boat not built as well as you thought or did you buy a used one that had been poorly retrofitted?
