We used to have a pair of Dahon folding bikes that we hauled around in our RVs. When we later switched to a full size SUV as our toad, we put a bike rack on top of that, took our full size bikes, and sold the folders. There have been quite a few times that I wished we still had those folding bikes to use on the boat.
The discussions here on folding bikes stayed in the back of my mind, and we recently received a sales flyer from Camping World. They had the Dahon bikes on sale, but also had another knock-off even cheaper. Ah, yes, the famous Yeah brand... no, I've never heard of them, either. :? We went to Camping World for some other stuff and saw these... sitting right next to the Dahons. Looks like they might have come off the same assembly line. Regular price: $199; sale price: $169. President's Club member can buy two for $299 AND they will give you two "fat butt" seats (my descriptive term for these cushy seats), free. Those are regular $30 each. Yeah, I rode one of the bikes around the store. 6 speed with Shimano shifter. Same weight as the Dahons next to them.
We bought a pair. Skipped the carrying bag for $35, but bought a bag for $12.99 that is sold for patio chairs.

They are calling it an "Adventurer" model, but is says "Yeah" on the bike. If you want a Dahon, they also have a single speed model on sale for $139 (PC Member price). We prefer to have the gears. These may turn to a pile of rust, but I'll try to keep them lubed. Our Dahons were not Mariners, they rusted, and back when we bought them, they sold individually for what this pair cost.
Joan is pretty good about leading me towards the decision she wants me to make, but I think these will be good "dual purpose" bikes: RV and boat. She thinks we're equipping another RV... yeah, Wild Blue will like having these. 8)
Hoping to get Wild Blue back in the water very soon... but it's pouring buckets here right now.
Best wishes,
Jim B.
