A Pleasant Weekend in Chinook

Great weekend with Russ and Toni in Chinook, they are getting ready to deliver Traveler to its new owner (see, I worked in a mention of a C-Dory!). A dinner at Doogers in Warrenton, breakfast at Pig'n Pancakes in Astoria, climbed the Astor Tower, watched the seals, got our fishing gear to slay the bass at Lake Powell, and went to the Ilwaco Saturday market and Cape Disappointment. Learned a lot about Lewis and Clark! Thanks guys, our stay was too short to cram it all in! Can hardly wait to see their new Ranger 27, it is going to be the mothership at Powell!

We had a great weekend with the Andersons and look forward to our next get- together. Thanks Pat for the Mothers Day Breakfast!!

And yes, we are enjoying our retirement!

We delivered Traveler to its new owners, Tom & Marilyn Smith, this afternoon. It was sad parting but we have wonderful memories. Traveler is headed for new adventures, starting with the Friday Harbor gathering. We know the C-Brats will welcome Tom and Marilyn and they will have a wonderful time.

We are looking forward to our new Traveler, a 27' Ranger and future gatherings.

Well, since we had gotten in the mode of spending like drunken sailors (not to impugn the other branches, they no doubt have some fine drinkers as well) down in Chinook / Warrenton / Cape Disappointment (new fishing gear, new jackets, a nice book on Lewis and Clark, and a bunch of other little stuff), we finished up the weekend with a bang. We came home Sunday and bought an older but reasonably well cared for Alpenlite fifth wheel and Ford F250 pickup to tow it (doesn't everyone need TWO gas-guzzling V8 pickup trucks?). Truth is, the F250 with the 8' bed and standard fifth wheel hitch was cheaper than a sliding hitch for the 6.5' bed on the Titan, and the seller was offering it as a package or separately, and the package was too good to refuse. Taking delivery this afternoon...

Laurie and I have been working on the boat ,yard ,etc to get ready for Friday Harbor and I check the site and read stuff like what Russ & Toni, and Pat and Patty are doing, and I start getting dizzy. All these new Rangers showing up this year and now the Anderson's are getting into the Land Yacht mode.... Geez!!!
