Advice needed - C-Change 25 hull penetration

That thru hull supplies the raw water to the head on my 25 as someone else mentioned. Perhaps when they tapped your head into fresh water, they added the washdown using the former head thru hull since it was already there.

PS- If you don't regularily open and close this ball valve, it will seize in place. Mine froze in place after 3 years in the Chesapeake Bay and I had to replace it.

Roger, what about the Armstrong Bracket?

Charlie
Charlie,

There's space along side the bracket to route the intake. I'll take a picture and post in the next few days. It would (of course) be even easier to go this route on a 22 or 25. Personally, I see no reason for a through hull when you can go this route. In addition, it's a lot easier to deal with an potential obstruction since it's really easy to get to.

Charlie,

Here's a photo of how the raw water wash down inlet was installed by Les and Carl at EQ on my Tomcat.

It wasn't until I went to take a photo of it that I remembered it is actually installed below the bottom of the bracket. The underside of the bracket in the center of the boat is many inches above the water line. So a hole through the transom here is above the waterline. Then there's just enough space to route the PVC down the aft side of the sponson (starboard sponson in this case). In this location, the inlet is pretty safe from damage. The multiple holes in the inlet pipe should help keep it from getting completely clogged. However, unlike I previously said, in this location, it's hard to get to while the boat is in the water (but easy to get to when it's on the trailer).
