I wonder how they find their information and how accurate it is. I know they missed (by a ways) the number of sites linking to the C-Brats.

Brent - I am a little aware of the control panel for web sites. When I saw the stat that showed sites that linked to the C-Brats, I questioned their accuracy. I know of 50% more site that link to the C-Brats than are listed and if I know that many, there are probably ten times as many, so if they are that far off on the one stat, I would question their other stats.

From CraztEgg “How many hits per month will CrazyEgg track? 6000 - WOW!”
Is this suppose to be a joke? 6000 is nothing.

Maybe I don’t know what CrazyEgg is offering, but don’t you get what they are offering from the control panel of you web site? I just glanced at their site so maybe they offer something I am not aware of.

Here is the basic web stat package for Lunar Pages

Web / Ftp Statistics
In this area you can view statistics about your website. Please be aware that only latest visitors is a live feed. All of the statistical reports are updated every 24 hours. All of the bandwidth information is updated every 6 hours. If you wish to compare data from each statistics program you should only compare data that is at least 36 hours old to ensure that it has been updated and is providing the correct information. Please note these times are estimates, and are subject to change based on the amount of traffic on the server.

Analog
Analog produces a simple summary of all the people who have visited your site. It is fast and provides great lightweight statistics.

Webalizer
Webalizer is a more complex stats program that produces a nice variety of charts and graphs about who has visited your site. This is probably the most popular stats engine available today.

Webalizer Ftp
Webalizer is a more complex stats program that produces a nice variety of charts and graphs about who has visited your site. This is probably the most popular stats engine available today.

Subdomain Stats
This will show statistics for the subdomains on your account.

Latest Visitors
This will show you the last 300 visitors who came to your site and some interesting information about them.

Bandwidth
This will show how many bytes your account has transferred.

Error Log
This will show errors in your site, images not loading, missing files, etc. This is very useful for debugging CGI scripts.

Yes 6000 sounds low to me. I look at the hits, who visited, which pages viewed, files downloaded, redirect links and bandwidth. I have not tried Crazy Egg but always helpful when ISPs give out freebies. I expect other ISPs give out more and better software. I am not a full time computer pro so everything changes at light speed to me.

We have several stats packages available via the hosting provider, but I rarely look at them anymore. I do save all of the raw monthly log files here, which can be used to analyze things to death...

I also added Google Analytics to the site back in May, which provides many useful stats not available in log files. For example, it shows user screen resolutions (8.4% of our users are at 800x600, everyone else is 1024x768 or higher), connection speeds (5% of our users are still on dialup), average visit time (11 minutes, 15 seconds), and many other interesting tidbits. All of the data gathered is aggregated and anonymous - a good combination that allows privacy of users, while providing useful details to webmasters to improve site design and content.

Attached is a brief overview of our site stats, starting in 2004. Nice and steady growth...
