An interesting bilge pump that uses no electricity....

HERE is an interesting little device. Be great for those that keep their boats at a mooring or even in a slip where the boat moves on the lines.

"A truly innovating product, this new bilge pump runs on nature alone. There is no need for electricity as this pump uses the tug and pull on your mooring line (created by wind and waves) to pump out water from your bilge. The Drainman can pump up to 2,500 litres of water per day (550 UK gallons or 660 US gallons per day)! It is easy to install, handy to carry, and locks in place."

I don't sell these or have any "interest" in the product.

Not too bad a price either, if it is well made. It wouldn't be too hard to come up with a windmill and crank arrangement to activate it on land for boats on trailers that fill with rain water and don't drain completely through the transom plug.

Looks like plastic to me. and 10' of small plastic hose and a few rubber fittings. I wonder also how it keeps it's "prime" unless it's got some kind of little "foot valve" that fits on the end of the hose in the bilge.

No reviews on the Jamestown website yet...
