Just a quickie here. We arrived at Sullivan Bay, BC (free wireless here right now),about an hour ago. 375 miles from Guemes for me. Just got fuel for the 3rd time. About $1.25/L. I have used about 140 gal US so far. Getting about 3.2 MPG. We are showering and then heading to a small bay to anchor and crab. Leaving at 4am for the 3 hour trip to Cape Caution and into the safety of the Inland Passage. All is going well, not problems. We should have internet at Ivory Island tomorrow afternoon.

Pat made it from Blaine to Gorge Harbor, in 6 1/2 hours. Weather has been very good so far.

More later.

I'm jealous, have a great trip... I've never got better than 2.5 miles a gallon on soulmate. Your getting 3.2 thats can add up. Is it time to talk about prop's agin??????????????????????????????????????????

Beer Twins? OK.... who was suppose to either open or close the side window?? Great shot and I feel sure a great adventure and great time ahead!! Wish I were there....but...my boat is the wrong color. I agree...that would be a great front page shot too. I thought I was having 60's flashbacks and seeing double again... Glad others saw it too...or two.

I too am jealous or maybe I should say envious! We are all already enjoying this trip.....though without the beer-n-buddies! Have fun, we all look forward to your updates and please TAKE CARE!

Doug

I agree, great shot, however is it my old eyes or is that a large cloud of smoke around the rear of the Anna Leigh? It kinda looks like what one would expect sitting behind a Dodge/Cummins, but certainly not a Honda gasser?

Or are you grilling steaks on the dock barbecue? :thup :thup

At the rate you guy's are traveling I expect to see you in Ketchikan later today or tomorrow! I'm in Ketchikan until 6/15 when Sandy fly's in. We'll spend another day or two here, then we'll be northbound again. George and Penny (Wanderer) departed northbound yesterday, and Bill and El will probably be getting close after meeting up with their son/grandson and Chris (Rana Verde) in Prince Rupert.

I saw Shawn Ogimachi (Tonie O) in Ketchikan yesterday. As I recall he meets his wife Tonie in a week or so in Juneau, then they're off to Pelican and back to Craig, AK where he'll be entertaining his folks.

This is definitely turning into an Alaskan C-Dory Summer!

Reporting from Ivory Island Light Station, great visit with Brent and Sylvia Hacking the light keepers. Day 1, Pat, Dave and Alan made it from Blaine to Gorge Harbor in six hours forty-five minutes, have never seen Strait of Georgia so calm. Night at Von Donop. Day 2 to Sullivan Bay, ebb tide pushing us out Johnstone Strait, crossed Blackfish Sound into Broughtons. Spent night at Claydon Cove, caught crabs. Day 3 up coast route of Queen Charlotte Strait, around Cape Caution, nice stop at Pruth Bay, night at Fancy Cove on Lama Passage. Day 4 into Shearwater in the a.m. for showers, lunch at the restaurant. On to Ivory Island, where we are right now, headed for Oliver Cove for the night, weather is kicking up a bit. Next report from Prince Ruppert I hope.Out for now!

We would like to thank Anna Leigh and Daydream for their narrative on the trip to Alaska. There are many of us C-Brats watching, with charts in hand, their every move and wishing we were tagging along. Makes us feel guilty though, we should be helping out with the gas. When our 14' grows up, Alaska will definitively be one of our destinations..Continue to have a safe journey....Wayne and Pam

Patty here. I FINALLY heard from Pat this morning. The boys arrived safely in Ketchikan. I was going crazy with no communication since Wednesday. I'm relieved. They will have dinner with Bill and El tonight, and they better start scrubbing the inside of that boat! Three ol' coots on my boat for a week---hmmmm. I'm sure details will be posted soon. I'm off tomorrow morning to join them in the rainy, windy SE Alaska.

Patty,
Have a safe trip up there. Tell Pat and David we are all armchair piloting with them, and wish them and all of you the best and safest journey possible. It is an event around our house now to see postings about the trip.

This is not necessarily well written, but this is my laptop narrative of the trip so far. I will see if I can attach it.

Just stopped at a fishing lodge at Yes Bay. This is about half way around Revellegigedo (sic) Is. I can almost pronounce it.

Probably didn't need it, but took 20 gallons here just to be safe. $5.00/gal. $3.15 in Ketichikan.

Pat not arrive yet. He is fishing and will catch up in an hour or two. He will be pleased to find the internet, but not the fuel cost.

David,

Thanks for the post. Man, am I jealous!!! yes, just green with envy.
Here I am, stuck at work, reading about your travels and wishing I was there. :beer

David,

Thanks for the blog on your trip! Great reading! I sure wish I could have got my boat ready to go along with you guys. Maybe next time! Be safe up there and I look forward to your next installment!

Posting from my Treo Bluetooth connection at the Ketchikan Yacht Club, a s...l...o...w dialup connection, so will have to wait until tomorrow to put a few pix up. Flying back to Seattle at about 11:00 a.m., my Great Inside Passage Adventure is over, it was everything I was hoping and more. David's blog has given you the blow by blow, I will try to give some sense of the grandeur we have experienced in a few photos...
