The deals are done!

Across three exciting days, we finished selling "Sea Saw" (the Bayfield 32 cutter we owned for 25 years) and completed the purchase of "Sara Lynn II," a 2006 C-Dory 25 (150 Honda).

Her new name will be "Muse."

We look forward to joining the growing group of enthusiastic Eastern North Carolina C-Dory owners.

Welcome aboard. Do share with us the significance of the name "Muse".

My pleasure!

The nine Muses in Greek mythology are the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science and the arts.

As writers, we'd like every cruise to offer fun ... AND inspiration.

Well, you picked the best choice for going from a sailboat to a powerboat. Judy loves staying inside the cabin when the boat is moving, and actually seeing in front. And the windshield wipers.

Also, coming from a sailboat, you can enjoy the fuel economy the C-25 offers when you're going slow (7 knts.)

That boat is ideal for cruising the Pamlico Sound and going up the ICW to the Chesapeake Bay. For the summer I'd add a small 5000 btu air conditioner and a Honda 1000. But then....

Congrats on the new boat and welcome aboard! A lot of sailor folks here (former and current) who are enjoying the protection of the inside helm and the great view from anywhere in the cabin.

Keep us posted as you get used to the new mode. Fun times ahead!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Welcome from another sailor tempted to the dark side by a C-Dory. Interesting name. Are you suggesting that the C-Dory is the tenth muse of boats? :D Hope she brings you the inspiration you're looking for along with the adventure and fun that you are sure to get. What do y'all write?

And from another sailor. Give the old bed sheets the heaveho, get inside in the cool, ah cold, evening breeze and enjoy the cabin heat and by all means, Welcome to the other side. Yup, a sailor I have been, and a stink-potter I will be. But I'll be warm, dry, happy and on the water. (It took me almost 5 years after starting with the C-Dory to give up the sail boat.)

Enjoy the site, the camaraderie, the wealth of knowledge and experience available and enjoy the fun. As mentioned, you have made a good choice in the C-Dory. it is a fine craft, dependable and safe, and interesting. You'll get to explain more than just the name more than once, I'm sure.

C-Dory slow cruising is about as close to sailing as you can get without having to winch a mainsheet.

Welcome and enjoy,

Harvey

Janet and I write cozy mysteries. You can find our novels on Amazon, B&N, and most other book sites.

Thanks for asking! :D

You mean you don't you miss the pains in your shoulder? Broken finger nails? Toe bruises from cleats? The stress of backing into a slip? The cold spray in the cockpit? :D

We're looking forward to "genteel" days on the water ... sitting in an un-heeled cabin whilst the Honda does all the real work.

Ah - and the muse will whisper while anchored in a cove enclosed by the natural world slowly swinging with the tide and a nice warm cabin to tuck into should the breezes blow or the rain fall. Welcome aboard the C-Dory world.
