Sorry to hear about it. A lot of folks keep saying "explosion" though, the only official things say "fire". Sounds like they just "abandoned ship". If reports are true, no lives were lost. Hope they are right...

Lots of confusion as this story unfolds. Original reports were that the platform was under maintenance operations and NOT pumping oil. Now, apparantly it IS pumping oil.

Let's hope the spill is just oil stored on the rig, and not a failed safety system alowing oil to flow from the well into the sea.
