best mileage

For the Duramax crowd they say keep the rpm's down below 2000 helps mileage. The other thing is the MAF sensor. I think it stands for mass air flow. The sensor sits right on top of the large tube coming from the air filter. They recommend cleaning these every ten thousand miles or so. This is also key to getting the best mileage. First head down to the local auto parts store and pick up some CRC MAF sensor cleaner. It's in spray can near the brake clean etc. Open your hood and look for the sensor on the large tube coming from the air cleaner. It had two # 15 torx screws holding in in place. Unplug the wire harness remove the two screws and lift the sensor out. Give it short bursts of the cleaner taking care not to turn it into a popsicle. The cleaner drys fast when it's completely dry reinstall, and wala your done. This is said to keep your mileage at it's peek. Anyone using K&N filters be careful about over oiling them as this can effect the MAF sensor. :smile

I have used these guys products on my [ now Anita's hot rod ] 2005 D Max Chevy .They are good .I have the old Stealth 2 programmer set at 70 HP with cold air intake and 4" turbo back exhaust . 21 MPG at 80 MPH empty. They have a max mileage module for all three brands of diesels .Lots of other brands of electronics out there as well .The newer the truck the worse the mileage . It can be made a good bit better though. The more fuel goes up the faster the payback.
I now have a 6.7 Dodge Cummins. Debating whether to remove certain parts from the exhaust system and reprogram for 3-4 more MPG .Ill have to put it all back together if there is a warranty issue though .PITA
I just became a Titan Tankdealer .They replace the stock under bed tanks . Have a 52 Gal on the crewcab /shortbed chevy and just got a 55 Gal for the new dodge 3500 longbed. Can go almost 1000 miles empty with the Chevy and 5-6 hundred with a mid size[25'] boat in tow.C Brat discount for those .Ill see if they will drop ship if anyone is interested. We are not installing at this time .I like the range as I do some long deliveries .I also like to fill up at home so my taxes stay local . Would be good for travelling brats as well .

Marc, I just looked at the Titan webpage for the 2008 GMC 2500 crew cab shortbed and it says:

This new TITAN Tank hangs approximately only 1.5” below bottom of stock tank shield. Very similar in appearance to original equipment tank.

Do I understand correctly that I would lose 1.5" of ground clearance and there would no longer be a shield?

Please post or PM me the Brat price, if they will drop ship for you.

For those of you living in WA I had my Dodge worked on at The Power Shop in Enumclaw. Good people, but a ways to go from here. Would appreciate any recommendations for similar shops north of Seattle.

Thanks,
Warren
