BoatUS Magazine Article on Websites

So the current issue of BoatUS Magazine has an article on Cruising the Web. No mention of the BEST boating website anywhere, so I clued them in. Here is the letter I emailed in.

I understand why brand-specific websites might not make your list, but there is one site that really deserves a look. It is www.c-brats.com, devoted to C-Dory boats. The website is not affiliated with Fluid Marine, which builds C-Dory boats. It is some 3,600+ members strong, and growing daily, with members all around the U.S. and Canada. Fluid Marine knows that virtually every person who buys a C-Dory finds C-Brats first, and it is a major factor in the buying decision. We have CBGTs (C-Brat Get Togethers) from the San Juans to the Chesapeake. We have an annual CBC/SBS (C-Brat Convention / Seattle Boat Show). The site operates on the philosophy "No Rules, Just Be Nice," and it really works. This is one great website that anyone who owns or is interested in a C-Dory boat should check out!

Good on ya'. I saw the article too, and wondered how much research they put into it as well. Wonder if they know about C-Dorys at all, as I have never seen anything in their publication to make me think they did. Good. letter, and maybe we can get some more info to them from other C-Brats, raising their awareness of this exceptional site, craft and family.

I actually got an email back from the letters editor - they are planning an article on brand-specific websites. He was interested in why it is called "Brats"...:lol:
 
I sent a inquiry on a C-Dory boat value to BoatUS. They responded with a long message about value history and a link to the c-brat site for more info, that really surprised me.

I hope that my fellow CBRAT web site users will not only thank the two fine web masters who make this web site possible, but send them green backs as well. It takes lots of time and money to do what they are doing. How fortunate we are not only to enjoy our fine boats, but to have this excellent website and the comradory we have. I am sulking over missing the Friday Harbor & Anacortes gathering this year, but will see everyone at Bellingham and Naniamo. Can't wait to see the photos of the aforementioned gathering. Best wishes for flat water, no wind, sunny skies and safe boating.

Good one Roger. I move we take a vote on that and incorporate it into the masthead. My vote divided by the 3K registered members here must carry about 1/3000 weight of a decision. :roll: Still think it sounds good though.
