Did your door glass just shatter for no apparent reason? Colobear experienced that and found a screw intruded too far into the door and nicked the edge of the tempered glass. That was all it needed. They were docked in Comox at the time and it was quite a shock.
Just take the door to a good glass shop. They can replace it with laminated glass at a cheaper cost. If you want tempered, they can do that too but it's more expensive.
Thanks for the information about your friends experience up at Comox.
My experience is the same. I was trying to replace the door catch that holds the door open using a stainless sheet metal screw that hit the glass shattering the whole panel.
I will try a local glass shop to see if laminated glass like in a car windshield will be a more practical alternative.

Hi, I'm colobear of Ccakes, 2006 22. The Door glass is made near Vancouver. Can't remember the company name but I went to the factory, they sold me a new glass for a reasonable price and I installed it with little trouble. If you look the manufacturers name is probably on the door. The offending screw was on the latch back keeping the door from swinging closed.
Hello colobear from Ccakes, 2006, 22,
I have contacted the manufacturer.
They are:
Diamond Sea Glaze
Chilliwack, BC

I am hoping for the positive outcome like your experience.

Hi Roger and Barry. Boy i recall that morning. Couldn't believe the glass would just shatter. Im warm and dry just now on my Pearson 36 Pilothouse as it pours rain and 28 knot SE outside. I do miss the simplicity of my 22, but my 36 is coming together. A bit more of a restoration really. Good to visit all the C Brats. Happy Thanksgiving
