butane stove questions

There's a lot of rightful concern over the dangers of propane/butane on boats, but as Thataway Bob says, proper installation and vigilant concern can make it a very workable fuel for both cooking and heating. No other fuel will give you as much heat or as quickly as propane/butane.

I have a 3-burner cooking stove and a Force 10 Cozy Cabin Heater in my CD-22 along with the proper safety devices and wouldn't trade them for anything else. I can't remember whether the stove is a Wedgewood or a Gaffers and Statler, but its a regular RV unit.

Below is a photo of the set up. Click on the photo for a series of photos showing the installation process of the heater.

well, linda and i have been in the market to purchase another boat, no big surprise there, that's what i do, buy and then fix up and sell at a loss! did i say i'm not to smart? well, we found the boat we've been looking for and made an offer several days ago and received an acceptance last evening. !

OK ! I'll bite. So what is your next project?
I can relate, buy high, spend lots of time and money fixing up and sell low.
There's nothing better than "messin around in boats"

We ordered our C-Dory with out a stove top and purchased a butane cook top in a nice plastic case. We stored this in the locker under the sink. That way we did not lose any counter top space.

The burner worked very well and could be slowed down to a simmer unlike some propane stoves used for camping. I was miss informed about the saftey of Butane. Dr. Bob gave me some advise about storage and we never blew ourselves up. I would buy the same stove again if I were to purchase another C-Dory.

The older I get the simple way suits me best.
