BYRDMAN GOES ON A BOAT RIDE

Just checked in on you..and spot shows you made it to the airport on time. That is always a good start to any trip with your wife. Have a wonderful voyage and try not to second guess the captain too much.

We will be watching from above.

Hi Pat hope you have fair seas and a great crossing .Loree and I Just got off the Island Princess through the Panama canal for 15days it was wonderful . Take care we will see you this summer in Tenn.

You should have left it on - see if it would track you across. The Garmin I use in the car shows a top speed now of 617 MPH !

dude, don't forget to visit the workout facilities aboard. for those c-brats that may not know, byrdman has committed to be my new workout partner , while in nashville. byrdman stated, he's going to get ripped! i took that to mean, in shape, but now that i'm thinking about his statement could he have meant, liquored up?
at any rate hope you guys have an enjoyable time. don't think about business!
best regards
pat

The Byrd made it to Miami and the Dodge Island....

Patrick, be sure to give us a check in on each port of call..and any other time you find time to press the ok button.

The seas have been very kind!!
The spa is a bit humid, if in the steam room and yes Pat....the spa is right beside the fitness center so I am getting properly acclimated....as well as possible from one room aft anyway. Don't worry, I am able to pick up ESPN too on the room TV and I do feel better. It makes for a good cool down after returning from a massage. Much, much fish and it has been great. Seared Tuna main dining hall in about an hour...

I now have a job on board....and that is to go buy another set of chargeable batteries for SPOT. We just crossed N36 W36 and that was cool. I felt balance in my life. Sherry was not as excited as I was....but some of my boating brats may understand. Interesting, home in Clarksville TN is 36.5 N 87.2 area…..so, I am just a bit east of home. Now, will have to lean on my Navy brats to tell me the distance between the longitude lines at the 36N line as to know how far straight line distance I am from home…..? 87.2 – 36 = xx? Nautical miles? Out of my fuel range for sure. We should set up a ship and have them use our personal boats as dinghy’s…..now that would be the way to see the world.

No Charlie... made a transatlantic a few years back, but we returned to the port of Baltimore, so, departing from Miami and heading NE I am in new waters after passing the Bahamas, then later Bermudas (in the area but not close enough to see).... and should see land in about 30-40 hours again. I like this.

Byrdman out for now....going for batteries……and seared tuna!!!

No internet after last update, must be at sea for it to work I guess..?

1Jun: Port Malaga Spain. We went out of the city to Marbella & Puerto Banus. These are resort & marina areas for the rich and famous along Spain’s cost. Extreme everything and also known as Costa Del Sol or “The Sun Coast.” Back in Malaga we went to the Picasso Museum to view original works of art in the place of his birth and the town celebrates him often and in many ways. Now, from my perspective, that boy was on some serious stuff….and possibly much heroin…or, at least we hope he was not doing some of that “art” sober. A bit out there. 3 days in a row of much walking, many steps, many changes in altitude via hills. We are walking now like the old Carol Burnett character “Mrs. Wiggins” and move with more of a shuffle than steps. All beautiful stuff, but for sure has taken a toll on our feet, ankles, legs and backs. Hot tub and Motrin will not fix it, and could use a good Percocet or two.. The water was mirror smooth as we departed. Moon bright and could follow the shore lights. Very nice.
2Jun: Great early morning breakfast on aft deck as I have been doing often. I will miss this time for sure. Water again glass smooth. Midnight buffet has been replaced by a couple of “brunches”, so, I will join Sherryl for her breakfast, and I will enjoy lunch and attempt another SPOT report. Will post at end of this if I get it. Day of rest and packing during our last sea day, but, will have to take time for Jackpot Bingo cover all…as, I have hit that sucker a couple of times on other cruises. Then, 4 nights in Barcelona. Damn, I am missing sea life already and I am still on board. Maybe I should get a job on a container ship….or not.

Not sure when next email access will be. We seem to be shut down when within about 5 miles of any shore.

Typing this via a TV hookup in a hotel in Barcelona....and it is very weird and hard to use. Will post an update from home computer on Tuesday once home. But, we traveled 4588 nautical miles on this trip....and in a heart beat I would turn around and head back via ship rather than a jet.... Be back in the States soon. We need to figure out how to travel bia a ship with our boats on board to launch once in different ports.....
