C-Brat Brigner Under the Knife

Jeff - I consider it a real privilege and honor to have met you at the SBS CBGT. You and Cathy will be in our prayers.

Byrdman - thank you for the post and please keep us informed on Jeff's progress.

Got a great call from Cathy!

NO CANCER !!!!!

As they took out a portion (no real detail as to how much) of the lung, biopsy showed the mass/spot/chunk was not a cancer, but rather a fungus of some type that looked, and reacted to sugar like cancers do!

As Jeff and I talked about 1 hour prior to his surgery, if he got this news, he should be released from the hospital this morning. He is use to his morning latte' (fancy coffee stuff :tea :thup :hot ) to get him going each morning. As best I recall, Jackson hospital did not have that on their room service menus, so I would expect they will work VERY CLOSELY with Jeff as to get him discharged this morning.

I will call him and Cathy just after 8am after the 8am rounds at the hospital and see if they are on track.

Many thanks for your concerns, kind words and prayers for my friend.

Good news Jeff. As one of the proud and few at the Hawthorne Saturday night, I had a great time laughing with you, Bob and Byrdman. Enjoy your latte. We'll see you on the water some time!

Great. The less time in a hospital the better. Less chance of coming home with a hitchhiker.

Hmmm - a fungus? Guess mushroom hunting is gonna be off his list of post op activities. :smileo

Fantastic

This sounds like something I had about 20 years ago. A mass was growing between the lung and the plural sac. There is no actual space there, but this is the slippery surface (plural sac) that allows the lung to move easily in the plural sac. I had an empiema (not sure of the spelling here). It was a fibrous mass that would not drain, so they had to remove a couple of small ribs and go in and surgically remove the mass.
Probably more information than you wanted to know.
No after effects as far as I have ever been able to tell.

Glad to hear you came out of the surgery with good results, no matter what it was they removed.

Jeff...

Larry and I are thrilled to hear the wonderful news!!!
We really enjoyed hanging out with you this past weekend and look forward to doing so again. You are a great guy with a GREAT ATTITUDE!!! It's too bad that Florida is so far away from Washington. cause we'd definitely enjoy spending time with you more frequently.

Byrdman, again thanks for the update.........

Praise be to GOD! Great news!

As soon as I mentioned this news to Jan; those above were her words also.

Jan then said let's have a celebration... Let's open the bag of MM Peanuts. We don't do high test coffee.

We pray for Jeff's quick recovery and Cathy's peace along with good health.

ROCK ON!

I say we celebrate by pulling the boats to Pensacola when you are back up and running. Call us when you are awake enough. I don't want to call ya and wake you. You BOTH need some rest!

Great to hear that there was no cancer! Lung fungi are fairly common and generally easily treated--if even necessary.

Good luck on the recovary; love from both of us.
